Yes, but others may take it as gospel, and I think a few think that you get FULL SC on rewards flights, where as you dont.
Especially on the DSC thread.

The SC earn rate is less than the Discount Economy earn rate. For short domestic flights, for example, 7 SC for Points Club member on classic award verses 10 SC for paid discount economy fare.

A few weeks ago I flew economy classic reward MEL-HBA and received 7 SC (10 SC paid seat). PER-MEL = 15 SC (20 SC paid seat). PER-BME 11 SC (15 SC paid seat). No change if using further points to upgrade, but I don’t know if the earn rate is more with a classic J reward? Answer: Yes, more than double SCs.

Edit: Thanks for the classic rewards earning link. For DSC it is good info to have instead of paying for seats.

I used BA Avios on QF as Reward flights and got the SC as a Points Club Member (same as if using Qantas Points to book the Reward flight) - That was for various domestic Economy and Business flights with QF (QF flight number as a BA Reward using Avios points for payment).

I do not believe you can have a Qantas Classic Award flight issues on anything other an 081 ticket. That said, it may well be the case that a X class award fare issued by say AA or CX may still credit SCs in the same way

I've done this too, it works quite well.

It's not meant to be a feature of points club, it's an error kind of thing. Should only be valid on Qantas ticketed bookings.

Might test it out for an economy reward to Adelaide. Don't have a lot of Asia Miles or Emirates Skywards miles atm so economy is the only option.

Nice, need to find a way to use the Skywards miles by early next year due to their points expiry policy. Pretty much have to fly using Skywards points to stop points from expiring.

I'm points club plus and having a lot of trouble getting qantas to roll over 100 status credits to my new membership year. I had 139 status credits available and expected 100 of them to be rolled over. I have read the qantas fine print and several journalistic pieces explaining the program to the world and they all simply say that 100 status credits will be rolled over. Many hours on the phone and several written queries later, I do not have the status credits or an explanation of why I'm not entitled. The AFF coverage of the program talks about "Roll over surplus status credits to next membership year". I'm not sure what they mean by "surplus" and maybe there is an explanation there. Any enlightenment on this issue would be appreciated
