Qantas Premium Entry at Brisbane Domestic

4pm Friday afternoon you'd think would be the busiest time? Premium entry closed each time.
Surprising though, that one.
Last Fri 15/07, about lunch time it was open, and very short wait time for security screening in that area.
Maybe that girl that does the QF BP scanning was not available later on/or they didn't have someone in the next slot, or maybe they didn't have enough security screeners later on that day, or they decided to consolidate screening to the one closest to VA, where the plebs do their security screening.

BNE Premium entry choka on Tuesday afternoon this week. The Business entry in the regular line looked quiet but I got stuck in the serpentine walk.

Seems it closes at 7pm.
I lucked out last month by arriving at 1830 and will probs do the same when coming in at 1745 next Monday.
It must closer earlier than 7:00pm as i have been there just after 4:00pm a few times now and it's closed.

Thursday 28th it was closed at midday  took 15-20 minutes to get through the rats maze with no premium lane offered.
Noticed that coming in from PER, I would have thought 1300ish on a weekday it would have been open? The standard line was already snaking out into the checkin area.
I assume I have Buckleys of seeing it open on Sun afternoon, and will have to cut short a visit to the extended fam on the Sunny Coast in order to get through the serpentine cr@pshow in time for the 1800 back home?
Plat has certainly become the new bronze:(

The direct QF939 BNE - PER for today (at 16.45) got cancelled for today, according to flightaware.
That flight number got taken over by a QF BNE - (ADL) - PER flight instead.
Hopefully that is not the one that you are booked on, DrJ.
Looks like a once off, but best of luck your direct flight does not get cancelled.

At 18:15 1 August the Premium Entry was firmly closed.
Luckily there was no one in the regular security queue or my connecting flight would have booked out without me :(

V true. I will be 200 SC off becoming Plat for probably the only time ever and I wonder if its worth the cost and effort.
There is a soft landing back to Gold. So if you have points to use up that can be very handy.

I fly out of BNE Dom often and it’s not uncommon for the queue at QF premium entry to be longer than main queue outside. Seems that most status pax go like sheep to premium entry and since so many pax on QF are FF gold and above these days no wonder the queue there is sometimes longer with just one scanning machine vs 3-4 machines outside.

PSA:

QF BNE Domestic Premium Checkin is no long available to pax with international connections.

You have to join the masses out in the terminal for a non-premium experience.
Wait. What? Have they added a premium herding pen to the main floor again?

This was the case for us back in October last year. There was a premium desk at the main checkin area, but the line was longer than for the hoi polloi queue.

Cheers skip
