Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

NSW is down to 98 - middle of last year I remember there being over 130. I guess the benefits to the restaurants aren't that great.

Or they are cutting costs in a tough environment, without necessarily cutting the right things, one only needs to look at how many are going belly up to see in general its a tough market!

Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

The last three times I and some friends ate at Crinitis in Sydney's Darling Harbour, points were not credited because the machine was not working. I kept two of the invoices (but unfortunately not the first, which was for over $300!) and forwarded these to Qantas. Hopefully points will be credited as a result of these claims.

On the other hand, Zest Restaurant at the City Tattersalls Club in Sydney processed points quickly and efficiently.

Welcome! I'm afraid the news may not good about QANTAS crediting your points. Usually they tell you to take it up with the restaurant involved.

Hungry Feel, Buderim, Sunshine Coast, points always awarded within days. Spend around $150 & get around 500 points

Sorry to say that this establishment has now failed to deliver QF points:(

Victorian restaurants...

Choi's, Hawthorn - dined June 8, points posted June 18/20
Wantilan Bali, Hawthorn - dined June 16, still no points :-|
Cosi Bar Ristorante, South Yarra - dined July 21, points posted July 25/27

I didn't understand the extra line on my activity statement of crediting from Epiqure until I reailsed that Epiqure members get extra points. Still, I don't think that's enough to save this program which seems to be really faltering.

Milano Cucina in Hutt St Adelaide. Ate August 3, points posted today. And it was good food and service
They have a Qantas sign on the door and it's great it was honoured.
Interestingly I realised later that they also do the Citi free bottle of wine. That would have been a terrific triple play on top of the Entertainment Book discount that we also got on the same trip

I would have agreed with you 3 months ago but I reckon they've really lifted their game lately. They've got some pretty good wine on offer sub $20 a bottle; and with free delivery, I think it's quite compelling at the moment.

For those in Brissie, or those visiting, there is a magnificent little bistro in the city called Bar Barossa which awards points. This is how I first found them; but I have been back whenever I go to Brisbane because the food and service is so magical. Really highly recommended.

Points for the Crinitis meals were credited today, so the news was good. Perhaps it helped that the restaurant wrote on the bottom of the invoices that the frequent flyer machine wasn't working. Many thanks to QFF for resolving this. I just wish I'd kept the $300 bill as it would have meant another thousand points or so!

Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

I personally see this scheme ending shortly

Giving out a % of each bill, which is reported at 3-5% is quite an ask for a restaurant

Does having your name on the QFF website generate additional revenue ? Probably not....

Not sure about that; if I'm visiting a new city, I'll often seek out the restaurants on the QFF list so in that way it becomes an important market advantage I would have thought. I would think too that it prompts good loyalty from local QFF keen customers who would be tempted to dine elsewhere but for the little incentive to continue dining at the QFF affiliated venue.

But you're right re 3-5pc, that is quite a lot. I'm surprised it's so much. Put CC merchant fee on top of that and that's a goodly cut to wafer thin margins.

Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

Umi Kaiten-Zushi on Central St, Sydney, still paying. Didn't even know they were offering QFF points until I actually went to the register to pay for the bill. Although they didn't provide a receipt, points were credited in 2 weeks (ate on 2 August).

Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

Keep your receipts when you dine @ Southbank Surf Club in Brisbane. The service is excellent, food is ok, but knowledge about their involvement with the QFF program is nil. A few emails to QF customer service saw my points credited.

Great. And surprising!

If in Canberra, there are only 5 restaurants that offer QFF points; I recently though dined a one called Pod - out in a nursery near the airport. Jeez louise it was good. Top notch dining. They happily processed the points without quibbling and produced a receipt as evidence.

Only downside is that they impose a 3pc surcharge on Amex, so I used my lesser point earning MasterCard instead.

All in all, a really terrific meal. I'll most certainly return -- discovered through their participation in the QFF program.

Note that their other venue over at Tumbalong Park does not, only the Central Street one.

Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

Criniti's at Darling Harbour is still not working for the past TWO months.

I called QFF and asked to fax in the reciept and they said they dont do retro credits and I need to take it up with them.....

what a joke
:(

I have been told by QFF that there are two exceptions to this 'do it yourself' position:

1. If the restaurant's machine is not operative; or
2. If the staff member in the restaurant was not aware of the program.

I was told that in these circumstances, QFF will post points retrospectively.

I had two experiences of restaurants not posting - one by deliberate oversight (Sahra in Sydney) and another by genuine oversight (Flint in the Vines, Murrumbateman). After QFF not posting the points on my complaint (I wasn't able to make out either of the two exceptions), I googled the name of the program head and wrote to her direct. I never received a response but did get both lots of points.

The fact that I quoted in my letter PtVI of the Competition and Consumer Act may rather have boosted my case!
