Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

It is important to name and shame - I remember a Sichuan Restaurant in Sydney 'Red Chilli' did not award points one time. Went another time, Qantas sign still up, said they never award the points.

I sent an e-mail from my iPhone straight away telling Qantas that this business is leveraging off the Qantas name solely for their benefit. Walked past it one week after, all Qantas signs removed!

Needless to say, I have never returned - I do not support business that engage in dodgy practices.

Oh I'll name and shame all right, but want to give benefit of doubt in the meantime. I have named and shamed here before, a la Sahra at Brighton, but equally don't want punish for a genuine systems glitch which they'll correct manually.

Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

Cilantro Restaurant Norwood SA. It is still there in the app, but not on the website. I have notified the app people

To cut a long story short it is now called Hazara. Same address and same phone number. Different menu. Claiming to be the same owners. They took my QFF card and said they were still in the program

That was August 17. No points yet

Anyone know how they are meant to award the points?
I went to Spice Market in Double Bay, paid by EFTPOS and handed my QF card, they mentioned they just got a new machine and it has had some issues, they swiped my QF card through the credit card terminal and it said "CARD READ ERROR". I assumed this was because it wasn't the way it should be done (Although I don't know how it should be done) They promised to credit the points next time I dine there, which I do fairly often when I am in SYD as it is local, so I will try next time.

Was this just a poor excuse? Did they try it right?

They are supposed to use a different machine; not the credit card one. JV

Lunched at "The Little Frog" Wyong NSW and the points turned up within 10 days. Food and the house wine were nice too.

Quick question - we have eaten at a restaurant listed on the Q Web site as one where you earn points. However each time they say their Q swipe machine isn't working. I went online just now to find out how to claim the points and it says no retrospective claims. Does anyone know an email address I can contact Q about this?

Bummer! Food was good at least. It was Pod Food in Pialligo. I'd go there again for the food but its a shame about the points. They are definitely on the Qantas web site though.

Interesting, it was only a month ago they were reported here as being ok for points credit.

That's not a retrospective claim in my book, if you provided your card there and it was a system failure. And this is what I'd be saying in no uncertain terms to QF.

so the mt coot tha the summit no longer provides bonus? i cant see it on the list but they used to is that right? anyone been there recently?

agree totally. expensive for the restaurants to be a part of it.

Non compliant restaurants with machine not working should be named and shamed

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app

VIC down to 49 restaurants

No wonder.

Spend $250 in a restaurant and earn 825 points.

Spend $250 at WOW/EDR and earn 220 points.

Spend $2500 in a hotel and earn a whopping 1000 points.

Pretty simple to see why the scheme is in decline:idea:

Pod, Piailgo ACT

El Phoenician, Walsh Bay Sydney

-- both claimed their machines were not working and promised to process the points manually. Neither has in 4 weeks.

Pod has previously awarded points so not sure why their machine is suddenly now broken. Disappointing.
