Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

Add Red Chilli Restaurant Haymarket to the lists of restaurants that won't honour the program.

I went to pay, including my WP card, and they outright refused to accept it, with the manager on duty telling me that they had exited the program "last year". As I had already eaten there, I could hardly take it back. I've asked QANTAS if they actually have exited the program, because they're still listed on the website (links above) and I went there because of that! The manager blamed QANTAS for not taking it off the website.

Did they still have the sign up?

Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

Would be worth seeing if they were or not!

Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

I have no idea - I wasn't looking for signs within the restaurant at all.
Signs displayed at the time of dinung can be important - bait and switch type of stuff.:-|

Indeed

Had dinner recently at Bluestone Restaurant Bar Melbourne CBD Functions Weddings Private Dining in Melbourne

Gave my credit card and QFF card to pay.

Waiter returned and explained that the "machine was not working at the moment" but he had written my FF number and dates on the credit card receipt that was the Merchant Copy and assured me that he will submit the points through the machine in the next few days.

I'll update this in about 4-8 weeks when/if the points appear

A great restaurant though

Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

Dinner on Saturday night at Punch Lane restaurant | Punch Lane wine bar and restaurant in the heart of Melbourne in Melbourne

Listed on the QFF website, but nothing on the Punch Lane restaurant | Punch Lane wine bar and restaurant in the heart of Melbourne website

No signage at the door, and I was going to ask IF they were still part of it, but thought I would just deal with it when the bill comes

Put my credit card down and the QFF card... Waiter returns with a printed receipt for the Qantas FF points

Another outstanding restaurant with an VERY nice wine list!

:)

Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

Was at Milk & Honey in Canberra today and was told by the owner that the machine was broken but that they are still participating and that I should call back to get an update. Notably, the sign was not up but they were displaying the Citibank Privileges signs indicating that they still participate in such programs.

Will I be able to flash my Citibank card at the Ozfest Sat dinner to get a free bottle of wine?

Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

No problems with Sky Phoenix in Sydney. I put my FF card in the bill folder when paying and it comes back with the FF receipt - no questions asked.

I don't know. Check the program terms and conditions (as that is what would govern it) but if the answer is yes I'll be looking forward to a glass of that wine ;). The only issue I can see is that you may have to pay for the whole bill with that card and that isn't an option based on the arrangement we have. See you at the end of the month.

Not sure it would work. You are supposed to pay on the card, and given it is a prepaid event that may be a problem (maybe I should have given Bundy Bear my Citibank number :p). Also, there is a limit of one bottle per booking. Maybe we need to get our esteemed organiser to look into it

Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

Sorry guys. It appears that the terms require the bill to be paid with a Citibank card and that there is only 1 bottle per booking. It is also worth noting that we aren't really ordering off the menu but have a special functions package which on a strict reading of the T&C means that we aren't technically eligible. As such, I'm not inclined to try fighting for this. I will however note that the wines at Milk & Honey are quite reasonably priced and you should be able to get QFF points on your alcohol purchases on the night.

To follow up on this, QANTAS called me back - they admitted that Red Chilli had exited the program, and that they would update the website, but that they were going to credit me for the points as a gesture of goodwill. I think that's fair.

Qantas eventually removed the remaining two Tandoori Place restaurants advertised in QLD, bringing the QLD list to 22! A very popular scheme clearly!
