re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

Was going to eat there tonight because of the FF points....! Is there somewhere in Brisbane that does post points without issues?

Cha Cha Char no problem with points - one of the great steak restaurants in BNE to boot.

I'll name names!

The JPB restaurant in the Swissotel in Sydney does not award points despite being listed on the Qantas website.

re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

Strathmore Hotel Adelaide is first class for meals and service in their balcony restaurant. Swipe Qantas card and give receipt with point total and have been credited within 10 days.
A very happy customer who often returns to the Strathmore - right opposite Casino and Festival theatre and they deliver the points without any hassles.

I have to agree, top class venue.... Food is great, Prices are Great and the staff are always friendly. Points always awarded.

re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

Guylian Cafe - The Rocks Sydney and East Ocean - Chinatown Sydney,
both - points credited in two weeks (I know OT as points were credited)

re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

The Blue Room Cafe Bar in Sth Melbourne is good, points posted in 8 days.
The waiter even asked if anyone in our party had a frequent flyer card when we were settling the bill. This was an added bonus as none of us were aware of its association with Qantas

+1

Although I knew they were (had seen the sign on the door there as I work on the same street).

6 days for me, and i'll be going back :)

Another OT post ... ;)

For anyone looking to boost their points by dining at one of WA's ten (yes, count 'em!) restaurants - my card has been accepted without demur at Dux Café, Ninniku Jip and The Silver Spoon recently. Oh, and points were credited within a fortnight, give or take.

Ninniku Jip posted smack back on the 10 day mark for me, as it is supposed so. I'm not sure I'd go back there again ...... the food is really what I'd classify as Japanese, or even fusion of some sort!

Confusion, mebbe.

Yeah, I'd agree. Rushing back to either of the three isn't top of our to-do list, although the cassoulet at The Silver Spoon had us fondly reminiscing about France. But those 3 points per $ are a temptation!

The Silver Spoon.. Hm, is that the one near the round about in Vic Park (across the road from the All Night Pizza Cafe)?

Yep, one and the same. The service was a bit variable, but the tucker was fine, as was the wine! See thesilverspoon dot net dot au for more.

Shall check it out next time I'm back "home".

re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

Just had dinner at Wilsons Boat House, Manly Queensland. Apprarently QFA hadn't sent them the new machine!!!! I was curious and came home and read this thread (unfortunately for the first time). If I had read it before dinner I might have been able to educate them about the use of the CC machine. Goodbye 800 points!!

re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

No problems at Verandah Restaurant (Sydney CBD).
Discretely slipped the card in with the credit card, and came back with the official receipt.

re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

Primo Mondo in Campbelltown... "we have the machine but we're not starting it until next year".

re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

Went to Blue Train in Southbank (melbourne) over the weekend and was told there was an issue with the software on their machine...

The guy was annoyed that someone had put the QFF sign up again - he was blabbering about how they had a software issue and the QFF software hadn't been put back on or something...

Very annoying but understandable - good to see a place that actually knows how the system actually works

re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

At the risk of bumping an old message, I had a experience today with 'The Rocks Teppanyaki' which I understand to be related to 'Kobe Jones', both of which are meant to offer QFF points.

The meal was nice enough, if a little expensive for the quality of the food, however when it came time to pay and I offered my FF card to register for points I was told that the machine had 'Seized up' and was no longer being used.

From other experiences successfully claiming FF points from participating restaurants the machine they have used to scan both QFF card and Credit Card has been a rather generic looking unit, however in this instance the only machine available was a St George branded device.

Has anyone had any luck in getting a response from QANTAS with respect to having certain restaurants removed from the listing if they appear to have no intention of giving points under the correct circumstances? In this instance while we may have ended up there anyway, what pushed me in the direction of this restaurant was that they were listed on the QANTAS web site and within the QANTAS iPhone App.

I will certainly not be visiting this restaurant again given this experience and will most likely steer clear of Kobe Jones also.

ntaus

re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

Hmm, I may be wrong but I noticed that they (where I have had successful points credited) used the same EFTPOS like-machine for both my QFF card and CC payment. So, seems a bit suss that if they can process your CC, they cannot give you the FF points if they are registered...with QFF program
