Qantas Restaurants that HAVE or HAVE NOT awarded points

That is not an ideal experience at all! Especially considering the fact that you emailed the restaurant in advance. I have spoken to our Restaurants Manager about this thread and updated him on restaurants not awarding points so we are onto this. In regards to the above experience, I will pass this on also and ensure that qantas.com is updated to reflect whether or not this restaurant is still a member.

Thanks for the very thorough feedback Chris.

Hi all,

I just wanted to let you know that Era Bistro is still a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program and will be for the next few months. If anyone has any other negative experiences, please pass them on so we can follow up with the Restaurants.

Cheers,
Red Roo

Without a rigurous spanking from QFF it seems that said bistro is not awarding points - judging by the post here and the listing on the first page. If they are already not awarding points to customers shouldn't QFF immediately cancel their 'free' advertising on the QFF partners page???

You would think they would be screaming for more customers given the loss of business from Colorado being closed.

Blu Ginger in Canberra posted points in 6 days.
And the food was nice too :)

Renzo's Bar in Docklands, Melbourne DIDN'T award point.

Claimed that machine didn't work.

Copperwood Restaurant in Melbourne, Lygon Street - Gave out points!

Also very nice people and food!

Alasya Restaurant does NOT give out points. What's the best way to now get them?

Edit: They said that the 'machine' didn't work, and something along the lines of the software hadn't been loaded and were not a member anymore..
FWIW it was a 'MultiPos' system

Curry Vault in Melbourne CBD was dodgy.

Did award points but for a $247.50 meal he only processed $147.00

He refused to give out a printout like other restaurants claiming the machine was out of paper.

Still waiting for my points from Din Tai Fung in sydney to appear, been nearly a month and i saw the girl process it. I even think i have the receipt somewhere (hope I didn't bin it!)

Thumbs up for Steerson's Bridge Street Sydney. Dined on 1 October 2011 and full points were posted on 6 October 2011.

Hungry Feel, Buderim, Sunshine Coast, points always awarded within days. Spend around $150 & get around 500 points

Here in Adelaide for three nights and have just been to Jam The Bistro who, after swiping my FF card, claimed that it doesn't appear to be working and that they've been having problems with the machine of late. She also advised that they have already had it fixed numerous times in the past.

Welcome to AFF sKuba!

Reading about all these places not awarding points (with their flimsy-sounding excuses) just reminds of a post I really liked (may have been earlier in this thread) that suggested when "the machine is broken" the patron leaves contact details with the restaurant and advises them to contact him/her when it has been fixed and the points have been processed/awarded, and then they will pay the bill. But I suspect that would end in tears.

Edit: I'd also be prepared to follow one or two other suggestions made earlier:

1. Get confirmation when making the reservation that points are awarded
2. Reconfirm this upon arrival at the establishment
3. Be prepared to eat somewhere else if neither 1 nor especially 2 is met (nothing like a decent booking walking out the door to encourage them to "fix" the machine)

I can confirm that Chill on Tedder at Main Beach is another one for the White List. No problems getting QFF card swiped and points credited.

Can also confirm that Tandoori Place at Chevron Island is rightfully on the Black List. On 3 occasions I had the 'machine is not working line', but this was with a twist. On the first occasion, I got told that this was getting replaced within days, and that next time I would come in, it would be fixed. A couple of days later, bought lunch there again and was told that the machine could not be fixed, and that they were getting a new machine. On my 3rd occasion, a couple of weeks after that, I was told that they no longer were awarding points because they couldn't get a new machine. At this point I told them that they should remove the Qantas signage, and there response was, "Yeah, we really should do that". I'm sure they're working on that right now...
