Re: Qantas Restaurants NOT awarding points

Izakaya Chuji - south melbourne - did the FF swipe via the EFTPOS machine - FF receipt given - points posted within a week

We had problems with Bird Cow Fish in Surry Hills NSW (still listed on QFF website as a partner)

On the night we dined there we were told the machine wasn't working and to come back again with the receipt.

We went back just recently, and none of the staff could figure it out. We were told to email them with the details and they'd sort it out. I'm not incredibly hopeful as they've already messed us around a couple of times already...
Any luck with the email?

Caroline Bay Brasserie at East Gosford, listed on QANTAS site, but no Logo displayed. When I asked did they swipe QFF cards for points they replied ".....no we have been trying to get them to take us off the web site for ages."

Hilltop Phoenix in Castle Towers shopping centre, Castle Hill is pretty good. I've dined there several times and I've always had the points credited to my account within a week!

Naughty restaurants that claim they don't do QFF any more: Blue Ginger Indian Restaurant in Lavender Bay, Sydney and, astonishingly, The Cafe at Kables in The Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney. Waiter was indignant!

Gotta say I was extremely surprised to see the Tin Cat Cafe on the list. It doesn't seem to fit their style IMO.

I was surprised too.

I still think that its over-priced for what you get even though it does taste good.

Dede's in Sydney have always been good however last time I was there with a $460 bill (excluding tip) I got no FF receipt and a week later only 900 points credited instead of the 1380 I was expecting. As my family enjoys going there will just not leave a tip next time

serfty, as advised by arraitch, Dux Cafe, WA (09SEP10) is no longer a participant in the QFF program. Please consider this in your next update of the table. Cheers!

Re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

Orsini in Camberwell has always paid me points without any problems.

Re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

I was at Red Spice Road in Melbourne a few weeks ago and they said they are no longer part of the program.

Re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

This promo can be a bit of a nightmare. There are a few too many stakeholders involved and it seems that the primary one (QF) are very quick to point the finger at the other parties (The Restaurant and Pinpoint - who manage the promotion). I have just challenged QF for over 7 weeks for points to be awarded and after two letters and a couple of phone calls they pointed the finger at the restaurant for not processing correctly. I had the processing receipt from the restaurant clearly with date etc... The restaurant (Ocean Room at Circular Quay in Syndey)to their credit chased Pinpoint who run a lot of the rewards programs to no avail for a month and then Pinpoint pointed the finger at QF. Sheeeeeessshhhhh

So three parties all pointing the finger at each other and the QF brand is at the top of the promo... Sucks a bit I feel.

Anyway, points landed today after 7 weeks later, two letters and three phone calls....

Ocean Room in Sydney has fabulous modern Japanese food with beguiling views across Circular Quay to the Opera House... a very helpful and charming manager who could not have tried to do more to sort it our but I sensed his frustration.

Another nail in the old QF coffin from my perspective!

Now for something else... try the Asia Miles dining program that awards points with minimal issues... not that many.

Ooh Roo

Willie...

Re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

When getting the bill, I showed my Qantas card and was told that they weren't part of the program by the waitress. After having a similar experience with Ladro a few months earlier (who are no longer part of the program), I figured the Qantas site hadn't been updated and I didn't question it. If I had read this sooner, I would have pushed harder!

Re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

Found out last night that Jellyfish in Brisbane are no longer participating. Not sure when they stopped, but they're no longer on the website either.

Re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points

Apologies if I've posted this opinion before, and I know 20/20 hindsight is a wonderful thing (;)), but I suspect if I was booking at a restaurant, and 'knew' from the QF website that it was a participant in this program, I would check at the time of booking that it was still a member, and was still going to be a member on the date I was dining. If affirmative on both counts I would proceed with the booking, and then upon arrival, would double check they were still participating, and that their 'crediting machine' was working OK. Any 'no' answers on the day would result, where practical and possible, in not dining at the establishment. Not the easiest thing to just walk away sometimes (lack of alternatives at short notice for example, risk of chef/owner chasing you down the street with a cleaver etc.), but if it can be done, especially with a large booking, it might send a message to people to lift their game and get it right (or in the worst cases, to simply stop lying).
