Just booked one more for Aug.
Got three coming up now Aug, Nov and Dec
If I lived on the east coast I'd be doing exactly the same.

That's not to say that if Red Roo furnishes me with a double SC sometime I wouldn't take some advantage though :)

Couldn't resist such a good deal. Got myself another one for Feb next year. $415 return to Singapore is just crazy!

Looks like we have exhausted all the really cheap hotel options.

EDIT, just found a Bugis place that seems to show when you do a district by district search, not a search on all districts.

Still requires you to have the flexibility to take a 1pm flight at the latest out of Sydney on a Friday. But then again, it seems like most people on this forum do have that luxury!

My CBA MC is not playing nice with the BR website. Should I call customer service or is it fruitless?

Call CBA and tell them you want to do an international transaction (Brazil).

If your using Bankwest they let it go through then block the card , as I found out after 6 this morning. No issues with booking a week in July and even got the afternoon flight home which is hard to find on the cheapies, went into town two hours later and card was not working, seems Bankwest Fraud dont like Brazil, all fixed now.

Apologies, I haven't had time to read through this whole thread. But am I correct in saying that I can get just an airfare ticket to Singapore for less than $450 without booking a hotel?
Thanks! What a great deal!!

I'm quite glad I bought a couple of trips this morning just before the sale ended. Looks like this deal will be $60 more expensive next time around. I never would've thought there'd be a downside to fuel surcharges being lowered.

I did that just that but was advised by CBA they were having CC issues last night. I just kept trying and at 11.59pm it magically went through for the grand total of AU$719 for two (rtn).

Showed up in my bookings a few minutes later. Both flights currently listed as 747. Probably going on to coughet - taking 10 days.

Ok, managed to change the flights my sister had booked for her family through expedia brazil last night :) I was on the phone (mostly on hold) for 3 hours:!:, apparently very complicated due to having adults, children and infant on same booking. Then CC failed when being processed so it took another hour on the phone this morning :(

But a few things I learnt:
- I was told they typically quote a 200 BR buffer per passenger in case price changes during the (lengthy) process of changing ticket. Which explains why I could never get a quote that matched the website. The actual new fare matched what I could see on the .br website (and thus the additional collection matched what I expected).
- The fares originally booked were in N and most recent sale was in O. In this instance, the fare was lower, and this explains why I could never change to a straight MEL-SIN-MEL in previous calls. Instead, changed the SIN-MEL sector to SIN-SYD-MEL sector, which meant additional taxes and put the tax inclusive cost up slightly and thus allowed it to be reticketed, even though base fare was lower.
- Credit card via phone was very onerous - they wanted address, postcode phone number etc, and as I said above, took an hour to process.
- The agents use a DOS-like reservations system, thus you need to be patient.

In the end, worked out, after lots of patience.

All the GDS'es are like that, though you can optionally use a GUI but it's actually much much quicker to use the 'dos like' system once you know how!

The ability to book a weekend away that earns 18000 points and 80 SC in Singapore for circa AUD$400
Interesting how Expedia is giving you an overnight in SYD on a BNE-SIN return airfare.

I have never been able to do this on Qantas unless you choose multi-city and then it treats it as a stopover and prices accordingly.

of course the standard de commotion of a stopover on an international Iitinerary is 24 hours.

QF.com ignores this, but you can get joy with an agent, QF or otherwise - but likely at additional cost.

I had no problem last year with qantas (.com.sg) booking SYD-MEL, arriving @ 1705 and departure to SIN @1640 next day. No real extra cost other than fuel fines.

Wouldn't you need to book via Qantas website if you received a double SC offer?

Wouldn't you need to book via Qantas website if you received a double SC offer?

I'd be interested to know the answer to this too because the way I read the offer was QF flights that are eligible for status credits, booked and flown within the time period offered. No mention of booking via qantas.com

Don't think there was any restrictions on where you buy it. Just has to be an eligible qf flight (qf flight number, eligible class) in the promotion period.
