Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site)

It will be breakfast in the Syd lounge, lunch flying up to Singapore on QF81 (to check out the A330 service), dinner in the new Singapore lounge, supper & breakfast flying back home on QF6 (the 747 service). A day out with a couple of meals, 11700 odd points and 120 Status Credits for $404 ain't too bad. Hoping those coughtails in the SIN lounge are as good as I've heard!

You don't even need check-in..... carry on only. Shower in Singapore, change of clothes, ready to go. Wish it was me...... (Replied with a quote but the above does not show as a reply...must have done something wrong)

How do you get 120 SC on a discounted Y ticket?

Apologies, I haven't had time to read through this whole thread. But am I correct in saying that I can get just an airfare ticket to Singapore for less than $450 without booking a hotel?
Thanks! What a great deal!!

Yep only when a QF sale is on. But why not book it with a hotel you aren't going to use for only $380!

Several questions:

(1) Do you ever get a proper eticket? And not just the "Detalhes da sua viagem" that gives you an eticket number?

(2) I booked for a friend who has a two word first name. It came out OK on the "Confirmação da viagem por parte da Expedia" but the space is missing on qantas.com. I know there was discussion about leaving out middle names - but this is not the same - my friend's two word first name (as on the passport) is now one word. Will it make any difference?

(3) Has anyone cancelled a booking? At least when booked on qantas.com, you'll get a credit. Do you get one in this situation?

Mrs trippin_the_rift has 2 first names and by default it removes the space. No problems there, just like it auto removes the hyphen in my name too:)

Has anyone else received an email similar to the following? Flights are still showing as confirmed in Qantas MMB & Expedia account. Also received another email the same day saying I need to contact them to discuss my flight changes. I thought it might just be the timing of the flights but that is still the same. All I have done is added my FF number, which I couldn't do when booking as I had to update my name in FF first.
Any ideas appreciated, my Portuguese is not too flash.

That's a disconcerting email to receive. I have not received anything like this yet... and hopefully I don't ever receive it!

Maybe shoot QF a call and check their end since that is the end that matters most?

re: 1 I was just anticipating checking in online and getting my ticket that way.

re: 3 when I inquired about cancelling they said I wouldn't get back the expedia fee and the rest would be relevant to the class I booked in. So if I remember correctly I had an O fare and was quoted $300 to cancel. Combined with the expedia fee it covered pretty much covered the total cost...

Hmmmm I'm actually booked on the same outbound flight (also on 1st Nov) but have not received anything like this on expedia.
My flight still shows up as confirmed on my QFF My Bookings page.

If I got an email like this I would be calling them immediately.

I might still call them immediately as I am on the same flight.

When did you book your flight ?
Was it recently ? Maybe QF overbooked or something so the flight is just "cancelled" for you ? If that's the case there should be some form of compensation.

As suggested I think you should call them immediately. I'd be keen to know their response.

It says the flight is cancelled, not that the booking is cancelled. Although it seems to have moved to the same flight.

Quite possibly some sort of glitch, and I have been through some interesting things with Expedia on other fares (such as one that never got to the confirmed status, but was all good on the airline system).

A phone call would hopefully resolve it all..

Spoke with Qantas, and there has been no changes at their end, booking still confirmed & ticketed! Yay!
So hopefully just a stray Expedia glitch...

Thanks everyone, all is well again.
