Qantas thanks its most loyal customers

I can't follow what points you are trying to make here. Could you please elucidate.

You pointed out that this was no longer relevant, I suggested it may be time to unsubscribe from said thread..

The thread is still relevant to me as I was caught up in the grounding.

Are you also nlagalle, a bit cheeky posting under two identities isn't it.:?:

I am nlagelle....or is that Spartacus...I can never remember.

To get back on topic has anyone, who was rewarded with epiqure membership, received the free bottle of wine?

But I said in post 455 that I had been wrong and that this thread is still relevant. I know it's really bad form to ever admit that you have been wrong. Like Qantas, they never admit it, that's why people respect them so much.

Medhead and I are two different people.

Just because two people don't agree with your viewpoint doesn't make us the same person

Well he answered for you so I just thought...maybe, given you seem to be very capable of answering for yourself.

To answer your first Question, an easier way to retain WP earlier, then work on conserving the DJ WP.
Please don't take this post the wrong way but you feel Qantas have not done enough and they should have offered Qantas Platinums double SCs so they could retain Qantas Platinum quicker and give them more time to retain VA Platinum?

Could you have had anymore sarcasm in post 455??

Indeed. OLCI is suggesting that I'll be very happy tomorrow afternoon.....
Don't tell me you have had an op-up? You who has already switched a lot of your flying over to VA and praising them at every opportunity?

So much for loyalty or at least perceived loyalty.

I've just had a conversation with someone in the know that confirmed that the "op ups" are processed the evening before the flight is scheduled to depart.
Perhaps you, they, are right. So now a little more excitement in the lead up to OLCI at T-24 hours. Only ~25 minutes to go for OLCI to open tomorrows flight. :p

By the way I had an op-up yesterday but that had nothing to do with this new initiative by Qantas. The flight was totally full and at worst I believe there may have been a middle seat available in row 29-30 on a 767. All other seats were full....

Last time I looked AFF is an open forum  It's been created so people can jump in & out and add their opinions.....it would be pretty boring otherwise.

Since when? I've never seen them both in the same room together... Curiouser and curiouser....
I think you may have a point there. I met nlagalle again at SYD airport yesterday. But was it really medhead? And I have never met medhead. Curiouser all the time....

Not yet. I got 2 emails the day I signed up (16 Nov), including the bit pasted below (certain details modified :)), but have had no further advice since then.

Delivery Details
Recipient MR TUAPEKASTAR

Delivery Address 1 MAIN STREET Firecracker VIC 3999

You will receive notification via email to let you know when your order has been dispatched.

I'm patient...I'm sure the wine is getting better each day with age. ;)

I'll get nlagalle or medhead to comment on your opinion.

Is it possible that those people affected by the grounding, as opposed to the union-initiated industrial actions in the weeks leading up to it, got a 'free flight', and the people affected by the union actions got a 'gift' (and presumably those affected by both, got both)? I dunno, just a thought.

I expect this is the case. I had a flight cancelled due to union action but was barely effected as I was moved to another flight 15 minutes later. I'm getting a free first lounge pass (which will be very useful when it arrives)

I had thought that 'gifts' were for those actually disrupted; are there any who weren't (like me) who did receive a 'gift'?
There a number of posts on this thread already of people who were not directly affected and received a gift yet others were directly affected and did not receive a gift. It makes no sense.

And if they are going to give gifts out with no criteria attached then I may as well get a gift just for perseverance. I was not directly affected that weekend but I have been affected with disruptions most weekends in the past 3 years. ;)

I'll try not to join the occupy AFF movement, are the 40,000 the 99%?

Clearly it is difficult for them to cross reference who did what but I'm not complaining. Free cake is nice, but they're only trying to suck up at the end of the day.

I would also like a gift for all the Saturday afternoon flights ADL-MEL and ADL-SYD they used to cancel on me back in 2009. I mean seriously you guys had such a routine I used to book the cheapest red-e deal knowing that it would effectively become a flexi, then change to the full flight I had really wanted for free.
