Qantas thanks its most loyal customers

Well, I plan my travel 6 to 18 months out and aside from one sale booking to LAX, all my current Qantas bookings are F/J/YASA's purchased at classic award point rates.

The award seats are there; you may have to be looking 353 days out, but they do exist.

As for Expert Flyer (& KVS) it's a paid service USD5 per month or USD100 PA, or USD85 for Gold members of this forum. However, Flight Stats returns award bucket availability (P/U/Z/X classes) as well and it's free to register.

In relation to opinion, the collective experience of this forum's membersp, including yours, helps to enhance the award garnering opportunity of all. Please do not discount someone's stated experience because it does not align with your assumptions/proponency. (Even after over 1000 commercial flights including several 100 on Qantas, I certainly don't.)

Sage advice serfty, though I did a double take when I read the highlighted bit, thinking I may be paying over the odds with my annual subscription. I was relieved to see the the $5 per month was for the 'basic' serivce' and the $100 PA (or $10 per month, if paid by the month) was for the 'pro' version with extra features. :)

In a similar vein has anyone received the free bottle of wine with the Epiqure membership offer for WP's?

Nor I. But got an email telling they'll email me when it is dispatched.

I thought that complimentary Epiqure memberships didn't qualify for the free bottle (I read that in the T's and C's I think - after my bottle didn't arrive)

According to the email offer it did include the bottle.

I wonder if QF is going to be caught out by this. When I took advantage of the free membership I did not expect a free bottle of wine, but when I filled in the online forms and received an email it seemed that a free bottle of wine was part of the deal. I wonder if the forms and emails were all automated?

That had crossed my mind too.
Shades of the Hoover free flights fiasco?

Given the wording of the e-mail specifically overrode the general T&Cs of EpiQure membership regarding 'free' bottles of wine with complimentary memberships, I think it was a very conscious decision by someone to include the free bottle of wine in the offer. Whether it was a sane one remains to be seen.

Well, OLCI time for my flights tomorrow morning.

Not only have I not been able to get into Row 23 for SYD-BNE (763), which is unusual, but I've noticed an odd difference for my WGA-SYD Q400 flight as well.

For as long as I can recall, I've been preallocated seat 2A on the Q400. Sometime I take it, sometimes I relocate to 3D at OLCI time (since the QF system thinks 2A is an exit row seat when it's not, so won't give me a boarding pass). Today though, I was preallocated 6D!

What's going on? An enhancement for WP's? WP1 effect?

Hi All,

An update for you on your complimentary gifts.
We will have them all to you prior to Christmas with some gifts starting to go out Friday of this week.
Please appreciate that there are a number of gifts to send so will have to be staggered over 10 days or so.
Also, some of you have asked about the gift with your epiQure by Qantas Frequent Flyer membership, as mentioned in your email, I can happily report that you will receive a welcome gift as part of your membership.

Thanks for your patience.

Cheers,
Red Roo

Thanks for the update Red Roo

Thanks Red Roo for the update. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that 2 gifts if we received EpiQure??

Thanks for the update! I have to say I didn't expect a gift with the complimentary epicure membership so it will be a pleasant surprise. :)
