My back up is the searches I do online for the flights I'm interested in. Whilst EF would no doubt be handy, it's not the be all and end all. The QF website ought to be equally effective if not as efficient.

As for cabin size, your right, they aren't huge, but I still think more seats could be made available. I have found instances where no JASA's were available despite discount J being for sale.

The QF website can not be as efficient as EF as you can't ask the QF website to tell you how many seats are available.

Also I do love that your back up is the seats you search for... what are your criteria? School holidays? Two adults and two kids? Four adults? Nine adults? T-300 days? T-50 days?

The QF site won't tell you how many seats are available.

JASA's are always available as they use the normal inventory buckets, not U. so if there is a J seat for sale, there will be a JASA.

To be frank, I really don't care how many seats are available. I'm only interested in the quantity I need.
And like I said, normal inventory does not always relate to *ASA availability despite your assertions to the contrary. But lets agree to disagree.

Disgraceful you say? No more than your attitude......
im not interested in random searches, nor domestic, nor Y. I also don't plan my international travel 1 week in advance, assuming your random search was international. Even domestically, this availability is no doubt based on the fact that QF does not expect to sell all the remaining seats and to be frank, I find it offensive that you expect me to be grateful to be thrown the worthless scraps that QF can't or doesn't expect to sell. They haven't released those seats to do FF's a favor!

Anf finally, who makes you an authority on what constitutes a misrepresentation? I find those that think their opinion is somehow more valid equally annoying.

considering simongr posted F and Pe availability i highly doubt it was domestic. and how do you come to the conclusion they are "scraps" you don't know if there has been availability the entire time the flight has been for sale!

The more you post the more it appears you don't even understand their fare buckets!

Well you did post that QF hardly release seats. and that someone would take them to the ACCC over it. and now that you were making blind statements that are wrong you aren't interested in how many seats they have available?

ok show me one example where it isn't? i have yet to find one in the 3 years I've used ASA's. Even on the QF website it says it. you say they are deceptively misleading that statement then?

These are the questions you should ask BEFORE jumping down people's throats. For your info, it's for either 1 or 2 adults, and generally over the northern summer period, with decent flexibility on my end.

I said that the QF website is not as efficient...... What more do YOU want??

As I've said in another thread. Haters gonna hate.

I searched SYD-HKG next week just to pick random dates to refute your statement that out of 400 seats there is maybe 1 or 2 available seats.

If I had time I would do a hundred searches to refute your claim that QF only throw out scraps and I would probably be refuted 100 times. Can't find a seat SYD-LHR in Jul 2012 - QF conspiracy!!! Or Olympics. Can't find seats SYD-NYC next year? QF conspiracy! Or maybe there are very few decent carriers (and I include VA in this) flying SYD-NYC.

It is very clear that you want FF J/F seats on the dates that you choose on the carriers you choose at a booking date of your choosing. When you find a carrier that provides that can you let us know and I will be just behind you in the queue to sign up - obviously they need to have a program that can earn points on Credit Cards as well as other vendors but I am sure you are across that so I am looking forward to your guidance and grabbing my great premium seats.

Considering that during the Northern summer next year the Olympics are in the middle, I doubt you are going to get much availability simply because flights are filling in general with people travelling to the games! Having said that there were flights in June with F and Z availability.

But they wanted J so F is no use. Neither is June. We need availability any day over the entire northern summer.

The more you post the more it appears you don't even understand their fare buckets!

Given that in a former life I was a yield manager at BA, I think I'm more than qualified to understand fare buckets. Granted, every airline is different, but the "gist" is the same.

I'm not going to get into an argument with you, so if the FF scam works for you, best of luck, but it doesn't work all that well for me, hence I'm sat on 1.6 million points that I don't seem to be able to use for what I want.

OK so that explains everything. You're right sorry.

Maybe you made some enemies whilst you were working there and they've blacklisted you from every getting any award fares ever? :p

F is fine, so is availability that gets me where I need to be and return when I want to over the northern summer. That doesn't mean there needs to be availability every day. I am quite flexible with dates.

Any other sarcastic remarks you'd like to throw my way??

Well then you of all people should know about availability then??? And why are you venting here?

it works for me as I have been able to book flights when i want. So it must be a bad scam then. and hey if you want to burn points, cash them in for gift cards?

No, I don't think any of us have any sarcastic remarks for you. Ever.

Looks pretty full J7, Y4 all else is zero - QF557 2/12. Also showing a 73H is operating aircraft. That's not like you.
As it turns out there were 3 vacant business class seats on the flight and economy had what appeared to be a very light load. Almost every row had a shadow and from what I could see 5DE vacant, 6DEF vacant and so on.

And for what it is worth this is one of the new 737's and the IFE was not working. No music either. :(

Pot calling the kettle black - I suggest that you back track & read some of your beauties...of course you can't read them all - as the Mods have already deleted your best work.

Smile, be happy and choose another airline. Nothing stopping you using those millions of points with BA!

I dont want gift cards. I want to use my points how and when I see fit (within reason). Im not an idiot, I get that there will be very little availability during the Olympics or any major event for that matter, but to suggest that I should be "happy" that FF awards are (generally) available during off peak, both season and time, is just wrong. AFAIC, the FF program should reward you for your loyalty and not as a means to offload seats that you cant otherwise sell. And, if they wanted to be fair, those flights ought to be cheaper, points wise, as they are cash wise.

What a wise suggestion.....

Not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer now are we??
