Qantas thanks its most loyal customers

I'd agree here.. 3 flights in the last week and the loads are the same as I've had for the last 6 months..

Not for me light loads when it would have been chockers.

Email was there about 30 minutes ago. Haven't checked the details. F
Lounge pass to use next october would be really helpful.

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app so please excuse the lack of links.

Well done to Qantas and my commiserations to Red Roo for having to put up with the almost incessant coughing that always seem to come from this group.

We all say that we want some sort of recognition for our problems/ill-treatment and some recognition for our status, butt when something comes along, we (in the collective sense - I'm not pointing fingers) manage to find some sort of fault with it. Well leave me out of that nit-picking. I'm grateful that QF have made a move and I think that indicates a change of approach.

WP - epiqure offer
(haven't been flying much at all recently, although planning 2 SQ, 2 CZ and 6 CX in December)

Would have preferred double SCs but hey... won't complain.
Double on 1,000 minimum is quite good.

I'm assuming the following 'gifts'
WP - epiqure
SG - First Lounge pass
PS- Valet/ Drive voucher
NB (selected) - Bag tags (given they missed out)

Would be interesting to document the gift;

No status- ?
NB - ?
PS - Qantas Club Pass ?+25% Bonus FF Points
SG - ?First Lounge Pass
WP - Epiqure membership
WP1 - Complimentary Qantas Valet or Qantas Chauffeured Transfer

Personally, double status credits AND double points would have made me a much happier camper, but at least the double points counts for flights already booked - I held off booking Qantas fares as long as I could pending the offer coming out but had to book quite a few earlier this week. Very pleased with the Chauffeured Transfer - hopefully I can use this for a family trip next year rather than it having a short expiry time.

he fact this offer expires prior to Christmas tells me its a "token" gesture to the Australian public...

My 2c anyway...

You got that right.

Just a month, what do they expect us to do jump on a plane just for extra points, its a joke Q, you can do better than this measly offer.

No email here yet though they have not stumped up for the free flight yet either.

I guess they're linked together.

No they're not, still haven't got my free flight email yet (guess it is never coming), but I did get the 25% free points and bag tag email about an hour ago.

Mhm. Do I miss something here? "DoubleFrequent Flyer points for all eligible* Qantas flights (with a QF flight number on your ticket)"- does this include codeshare flights on other airlines' metal that are booked through QF and under a QF flight number? Does anyone know for sure? The * information only specifically excludes Jetstar and Jetstar Asia but what with flights on BA or Air Pacific metal that are booked as Qf flights?

Well done to Qantas and my commiserations to Red Roo for having to put up with the almost incessant coughing that always seem to come from this group.

I think I was the original whinger, and I'm actually very pleased with the Epiqure offer - something I'd contemplated joining previously.

I was genuinely concerned for QF in that the offer doesn't do anything loyal QF customers who can't earn points (not me, thankfully) - but offers such as Epiqure will no-doubt help the higher value non-point earning punters.

And on a personal note, I moved all of my flying to DJ the week before the grounding, specifically because of the Purvinas threats - so the points offer doesn't do much for me (apart from 1 solitary JASA out of 25 flights in the eligible period). But that's life, and I do get a shed-load of DJ SCs.

Unfortunately most of our Business Travel for the year was conducted over the months of strikes and because our business needed certainty, we flew with Virgin. No choice as several of our usual flights were cancelled. Not much travel is planned in the weeks leading to Christmas. This offer is nice for those travelling in the next four weeks but doesn't hold much excitement for us. We will probably not have enough status credit points to maintain current status when that gets reviewed early next year. On the other hand, our Virgin status match lasts well after mid year.

I am silver - but had some impacted flights. Were your flights cancelled or really delayed?

I had my flights cancelled and I am Silver. I received an email a little while ago with the double frequent flyer points offer and a note that a Qantas Club entry pass will be sent to me.

I guess some people will never be happy with whatever is offered...

Perhaps the unions are the ones you should be contacting for compensation?

Looks like Mythbusters are at work here :!:

Maybe most WPs are paid for by their employers but there are quite a few self funded as well.

It could be, am happy to re-word to "many" :D.

Suspect that AFF does represent a disproportionate number of self-funders though!

i'm happy for all the regs that are going to be able to benefit, i'm tucked away in Newcastle so don't get the luxury of Qantas flights, so no benefit to me but glad to see they are trying to get people happy again. Now Red Roo...... about that Qantas lounge for Williamtown :-))))

Would have preferred double SCs but hey... won't complain.

I will complain. QF just don't get it at all. I really don't care a jot about bonus FF points, won't get me booking a ticket because of that, double SC's well that's enticing. Virgin get it, Qantas don't. (get my business at the moment :p)

Some of us aren't even employed! ;)

I am in a similar vein, having only flown QF domestically on one set of flights in the last few months. These were heavily affected by union action (was one of the cancelled strikes, where they gave QF a few hours notice and try to suggest they made no disruption this way). cough happens, I can have a negative view on all the parties but I also don't care much for (or lack of) free cake. My upcoming flights if in Y will be down to price, regardless of some extra points being offered. That said at this rate DJ is more expensive at short notice for me so I will probably go QF. Service wise it's probably all the same, I'm getting the same benefits from both effectively.

So thank you but I would prefer effort be put into fixing the company not acting as a politician wanting re-election. Hard for the marketing department because it seems like all they can do is give free points away. My only suggestion if they read this is in future rather than shotgun points into every flyer maybe setup a mechanism to deal with poor (status) customer experiences. If a WP was delayed >2 hours then sure, give them a few points and maybe an auto-email apology. This feels less like a 'sorry' and more like a 'please book with us, hey look more points'.

Nevertheless thanks, I will probably personally benefit from slightly, nearly making up for the amount I will have lost from the loyalty bonus change.

Two emails received. Myself and Mrs.
Both Bronze, and probably won't be able to benefit.

Thanks for the offer Red Roo!

I'm happy to accept the Epicure offer, and the double points offer will do nicely for my BLR-HKG-SYD-ADL flight this weekend.

As for inconvenience - my QF ADL-SYD-HKG-BLR flight departing 30-Oct & returning on 5-Nov was cancelled 14 hours before I was meant to depart, but I was able to book on SQ the following morning a return ADL-SIN-BLR flight departing 4 hours later than my QF flight and returning on the same data as my scheduled QF flight.
Unfortunately my return flight BLR-SIN departed 4 hours late and missed the SIN-ADL connection so I ended up with an extra day in SIN.....
