Qantas thanks its most loyal customers

Those who are on jetstar flights, I suggest you read the fine print again.

Points are not earned on Classic Award redemptions or on Qantas codeshare flights operated by Jetstar or Jetstar Asia other than in Economy classes B, H, K, L or Y (earn in L class is eligible only when travelling on a oneworld fare product)

As per standard, Jetstar flights in B, H, K, L or Y are eligible.

My email was for the double points, no freebies ( I'm already an epiQure member courtesy of the AFF lunch ;) ). My travel plans weren't disrupted and I'm fine with the offer though at this stage it's unlikely I will be able to take advantage of it ( spending on the Amex up to Christmas will be easier). My NB kids received the 25% bonus ff point offer.
Since everyone's going to be on epiQure now, I've ordered up on the Billecart-salmon before it runs out

I really would like you to explain in what way QF has been very good to you.

At the end of the day, they are an airline, The price you pay is for "transport". If I buy that same "transport" over and over from the same supplier, they start to look after me more. My cost of the "
transport" stays the same. Over they last year I've not used it. By the rules of the program, I should have fallen from "Frequent flying" they have allowed me another 12 months. That IMHO is being "good to me"

I got offered the epiQure membership, but it will have little to no impact as I wasn't going to buy it in the first instance, and it won't materially impact the spread of our travel spend in the near future.

Don't really understand the sniping about people feeling the company owes them something, just as I don't understand how people perceive this to be some sort of reward for loyalty.

From the company's point of view, the past is irrelevant - they want you to keep flying with them in the future. Maybe some of these offers will entice you to do so - on the other hand, it's just as fair enough if they don't. In the latter case, it's not about the company 'owing' something to the customer that they feel entitled to - rather, that they have not quite offered the right incentive to persuade them not to spend their money elsewhere.

It seems like there are quite a few people who fall on either side, and that some other incentives (double SCs, more F lounge passes, vulture bait) may have been more persuasive.

got a Flounge pass. Nice!

Get to go to the flounge at the begining of my christmas trip as a SG (unfortunately after the end of the bonus points period) and come back to aus as a WP! Self funded too. What is that? 8 now? :)

The email I got says

I'm confused.

*All Platinum members will be eligible for the bonus points offer by travelling on any eligible Qantas flight (with a QF code on your ticket) between 00:01 AEDT 16 November 2011 and 23:59 AEDT 23 December 2011. Points are not earned on Classic Award redemptions or on Qantas codeshare flights operated by Jetstar or Jetstar Asia other than in Economy classes B, H, K, L or Y (earn in L class is eligible only when travelling on a oneworld fare product). See the Airline Earning Table at qantas.com for full details. This offer is not transferrable. Frequent Flyer points are not available for members who are restricted from earning points on flight activity. Qantas may extend the offer. Different bonus points offers apply to each Qantas Frequent Flyer membership level; Platinum members receive a 100% bonus, Gold members receive a 50% bonus, Silver and selected Bronze members receive a 25% bonus. The offer applicable to you will be determined by your membership level at the time of travel. Frequent Flyer points will be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within 6 weeks of travel.

A qantas code share flight will have a QF flight number.

Sorry Red Roo, but that is not a very compelling offer. First, it misses all WOAG flyers, who don't earn miles on their bookings.
I fall into that basket, so 50% extra to zilch is still zilch. :-|

I also didn't get a free gift despite being directly affected: I was booked on a qantaslink flight and had a far more efficient transfer than usual through an almost empty Sydney airport. :p (or is it only for those directly affected in a bad way?)

I have booked my flight back to London at the end of this month, for 2 weeks, to help hubby to move into the rental house - so I will get 50% bonus for the ff points. Hubby is coming back home for Christmas, leaving London on 23rd December - so he will get double the ff points one way as plat. We appreciate the extra points (hoping to get enough for an upgrade one day - it is gruelling to do those long flights between SYD and LHR in Y!)

Just check the time on his flight, it has to be before 23:59 AEDT on the 23rd.

I really would like you to explain in what way QF has been very good to you.

Good question - I'm now asking myself the same.

Like many I spend money on many essentials services that are owned & managed by private businesses - phone, internet, electricity, gas & air-travel....probably a few others that I can't recall.

We're lucky, in that we have a competitive market and free choice to select our provider across many of these essential services.......but, only one rewards my continued loyalty.......and I appreciate QF for it.

QF reward my service every time I fly. Like most things, it was a phasing in type of thing.....QP was good, J lounge was better, but F is best

hmmm. it seems not all SGs got a Flounge pass. My partner, who's also SG, got a different email giving only 50% extra points. how very odd.

happen to anyone else?

Was your partner directly affected by any of the industrial disputes?
