Qantas thanks its most loyal customers

not just the vultures waiting to pounce on too good to be true opportunities like double SCs promotions that make no sense.
This is a ridiculous comment IMO.
A couple of weeks ago when it was hinted that Qantas may have heavily discounted airfares and/or double SCs offers to make up for the disruptions many were speculating what it was going to be and how they would benefit.

Now I am not talking about people who were affected by the strikes, or people who had forward bookings, or people who had any intention of flying Qantas in the near future.

I am talking about the ones who were only interested in making a booking to have a cheap last minute weekend away or to benefit from double SCs to complement the VA double SCs offer. Some were even talking about changing existing VA bookings if the QF offer was enticing enough.

Anyway in my opinion not such a ridiculous comment....

And if QF did 2 months people would complain and reckon it should be 3 months.. and so it goes on.

So you think Dec 23rd was picked randomly...why not just pick until the end of the year with Dec 31st etc because a lot of people fly at Xmas, completely negates the supposed spirit in which this is being offered

Why not the 16th Dec and make it 1 month?

FFS people, it's a better points offer than yesterday. Enjoy! Stop cough1ng!

I'm in a similar boat, having got the double points offer as well as an epiQure membership but I was in no way affected by the grounding (although I was affected by the strikes).

I've still not nothing :-(

Thanks Red Roo I have been thinking about joining EPicure & double points are welcome always

Frankly the days of the grounding did cost dollars looking at options for a very VIP trip to HKG & MNL & I did wish I had used the CX option that I had agonized over days. PE was the winner QF v CX.

Anyhow staying loyal as I have for the last 9 years. Will pick up about 12,000 points thanks to the return MNL / HKG MEL SYD in PE so cheers

Not sure if Red Roo is twitter @QANTASAirways but enjoy conversations & thankful for feedback

I would love to see some limited free or discounted upgrade offer during the year. I see that offer as being one of the few gaps for the 2011 flying year. Dbl SCs were great this year although sone of the 'out /na' criteria were a little 'unfair'

Greetings from Asia & as I said to the guys at the F SYD Lounge this 6 week trip will be too long to wait to enjoy the culinary delights & service they provide

Cheers :)

Lowly bronze, though I have a return trip to Thailand booked for Jan...and no email for me:(

Oh well, they don't *owe* me anything, so it's not like I'm upset @ Qan... but any extra incentive/reward is nice :)

Well for whatever reason I have become a selected NB.So for the first time in many years I will credit an OS longhaul to QFF.Not only the 25% bonus but will give me a loyalty bonus,,but also get me bag tags.

Do they wish to give something to the people who fly every week or to the people who fly once a year at Christmas?

I fall into that basket, so 50% extra to zilch is still zilch. :-|

I also didn't get a free gift despite being directly affected: I was booked on a qantaslink flight and had a far more efficient transfer than usual through an almost empty Sydney airport. :p (or is it only for those directly affected in a bad way?)

Feel free to book and pay for leisure flight from your own pocket.

Perhaps a weekend away somewhere? Surprise visit to friends?

Then you can benefit from the free bonus points.

People are coming on the forum and commenting, discussing and debating, this is what forums are for. Red Roo posted a blatant promo for QF which can be scrutinized by the members. It is comments such as yours which seeks to stifle debate or impune other members is actually a form of coughing.

Thank you Red Roo we are booked for about 8 return journeys so your offer is very generous.

Perhaps the unions are the ones you should be contacting for compensation?
so we arent allowed to comment on these rewards based on individual circumstances without a snip comment or being called coughy by others? so much for discussion forums then.
Great for all those travelling next month but not everyone who has been affected fall into that batch.

Got the emal giving the SG 50% bonus and F Lounge pass. Pity it won't arrive in time for my NZ trip next week, but I assume the pass will have a 1-year expiry???

I will also be travelling internally in NZ on Jetstar but paid the extra $15 to accrue points and SCs. I wonder if the Qantas computer will be smart enough to know not to double my points.

Interesting to know what the criteria for the extra gift was. I was disrupted by the unions industrial action (though actually in a good way) and think that Qantas may have just given a blanket gift to anyone who flew domestically in the lead-up to the grounding and across the airline during the shutdown and its aftermath.

And if you don't like to read peoples' incessant whining then AFF is not the place for you!

Got the email yesterday with the epiQure offer, even though I was not directly affected by the grounding. When I saw the world 'double' I thought SCs, but when I read email properly, alas it was points.

I'm in the camp of, wouldn't it be nice if we were also offered abc ...., but happy with any goodwill gesture from QF. What's more important is longterm & permanent improvements to product and services.
