On the actual app there's a bar code up the top. Under that is a kangaroo which draws itself then cleverly colours itself in. The background is gold, it says gold and down below is the One World blue oval. None of this is on the phone wallet version.

Yes, it's generic in wallet for some reason, unlike the VA card, which has the status and additional info. I just checked mine; I never noticed that before. The additional details do show up on QF boarding pass in wallet, as you probably know.

Just received an email from QF after applying. No requirements for travel history just proof of membership (VA Plat for me).

Was worried I would not get past go as applied previously last year and never heard back.

Quick (lazy) question, what’s the expectation of period once qualified? If if you qualify in April, and your QF yearly anniversary is to Feb (for example), do you then pick up QF Gold until Feb 2023?

Yep. You will be given gold status for the remainder of this membership year and for a full year after that. I'm now gold until January 2023.

Where does it specify how long we'll receive GOLD status after attaining 100SC?

I realise it says "at least 12months", but that's all it says, nothing specific & my call to Qantas this morning was no help whatsoever answering this question.

I wouldn't think it would be GOLD for your remaining year & then another full year. Happy to be wrong though.
If so it would greatly benefit someone with a Jan/Feb anniversary over an Aug/Sept anniversary date. The usual some win some don't scenario.

You will attain gold when you earn the 100 status credits. That will give you gold for this current membership year. You will then be given another full year as gold.

My membership year begins and ends at the end of January and shortly after earning the necessary 100 points I received an email saying I will have gold membership until January 2023. My new membership card confirms this.

Unlike some FFPs (e.g. NZ), QF doesn't cater for any change in status year. That is why they have to give the current year plus 12 months to those that qualify for the higher status. With NZ the status year changes upon qualifying for a higher level of status.

So I might have to be nice to QF. Received an email requesting proof of membership around 430. Emailed them back at 6. Received confirmed of acceptance to Fast Track program at 8pm. I think it was yesterday I applied (or maybe Tuesday - either way it was a day this week ending in -day).

Will stump up for a J class ticket to Cairns in June which ex Adelaide will give me the 100 status credits needed in one hit. As I have a May anniversary, looks like I'll be good through until May 2023 (plus whatever Qatar end up doing as well).

Nice to be nice.
I agree, one hit in J & you pass the biz lounge, collect 100SC's & we're on our way on the golden carpet.

My goodness did I just have an entertaining yet frustrating call with Qantas on phone re; this QantasFast Track for Gold.

I'm taking a flight next week & wanted to know if approved for Q Fast track or not, was told yes received my application, I had to really stipulate so does that mean I'm approved etc. Anyway I was & asked for email for evidence.
So doesn't seem like any qualification, just anybody who has Gold or above on that list of airlines.

Then I asked when the 12months starts after I gain the 100 SC's, as I'll claim the 100SC in a single return flight next week with J return MEL-BNE.
12month kicks in from next week or from offer ending at 31st July.
I was told till my next anniversary date which as a non-status Q that is 31st Dec. I obviously said so I get 6month Q Gold Status. He said yes, he checked with a colleague & & confirmed was the case. Was actually a different answer to what I asked, but hey went along with it.
I said that's not what the T&C's state.

I said I probably won't participate now cos I'm not being given what the offer clearly states. He asked me where I read that, eventually he found it, confirmed with another colleague again & confirmed yes 12months.
Ah, but the answer from 12months starting wasn't confirmed with any confidence, from my 100SC gain or 31st July.

Anyway doesn't fill me with much confidence, it takes like 10mins to read the offer in full. Isn't it part of most forms of employment to be aware of company dealings/offerings if it's directly involved in your employment role. Receive an email from HQ, read it FFS, you know your going to get callers asking about it.

If I answered the call & filled the client with half baked incorrect info I'm sure I'd be searching on seek.com before not too long.
Very ordinary.
I had a similar experience. Sent in my membership screenshot, and as I have a flight next Monday I rang the QFF call centre as the e-mail suggested ("if you have a flight within the next 10 days")

The consultant had absolutely no clue and said the status challenge starts as soon as I have sent in my membership information - which challenged him on. I then said how would I be able to access the QF lounges and he just said I am not eligible during the status challenge. I had to ask him to google the status challenge website and read through line by line with him. He put me on hold multiple times and then told me I will receive an e-mail and I need to bring the email with me - again that was incorrect and clearly stated on the website.

At that point (1.5 hours of my life that I will never get back) I decided to cut loss and just politely asked him to end the call. It was quite hopeless that QF clearly did not communicate the details of the program to their staff at the call centre.

Two days later I received my acceptance e-mail for the status challenge, and this time it was easier when I rang the call centre to ask them to move forward my status challenge start date - let hope this has worked...!

I've still got no idea, am I meant to receive a digital Qantas club card once accepted?

I've received an email saying I'm accepted (3 days ago) but the digital card on my phone still just shows bronze?

My digital card now shows the below, although in the profile page does show Q Club Bronze (as you’d probably expect).

Cheers, mine doesn't look like that. How long did it take for it to show up? I'm flying later next week and it'd be great to use it.

Overnight essentially. Was approved Thursday and it was there yesterday (didn’t show straight away though). Anything show if you log into website rather than app? Or tried logging in and out of app?

Cheers, still hasn't changed so I've followed up. A family member sent their card off today, received a response about 6 hours later and their card has now been updated to show Qantas Club Bronze.

About 12 hours after applying I got this email:

Dear Eastwest101

Congratulations!
We’re pleased to confirm your participation in Qantas Status Fast Track to assist you in reaching Qantas Gold status faster.

Earn at least 100 Status Credits through Qantas Frequent Flyer between 21 April 2021 and 31 July 2021, and we’ll upgrade you to Qantas Gold. You will have access to the Qantas Club until 31 July 2021, where available, when travelling with Qantas and Jetstar. To access the Qantas Club, please make sure your Frequent Flyer number is in your booking, and show your boarding pass or digital Qantas Club card available on the Qantas App. Please allow up to 24 hours for your Qantas Club access to be activated.

I have the emails and reference numbers, but because I will be flying within 10 days, having to phone the Qantas call centre seems a bit of a PITA, given how under-resourced call centres probably are.

After waiting for a while, I got through and the agent confirmed that my offer is now active, so they might (?) have automated this for successful applicants for the status fast track and automated the start date to be when the application is successful. Maybe someone in the call centre told the IT/loyalty people to automate all this, as the call centres were hit with a flood of phone calls?

VA have abandoned a lot of the routes or reduced frequency enough to make them impractical for me, so an easy decision. Even easier that no VA A330s and B777s now gives me zero motivation to collect Velocity points for redemption. A case of "wake me up when they have some international partners and/or widebody options."

I think the loss of VA A330's for East Coast to Perth will have decent detrimental effect, big loss IMO. A free kick to QAN.
Maybe they wiped little too much fat on this one.

In saying that I have booked a 1-way PER-MEL in J on boring seats. Heading over with Qantas J thou, as good as it gets for now flying A330 J.

Don't VA still own the B777's, there just sitting somewhere for now? I may well be incorrect.

In the short term, it was the right decision. The VA A330's haven't been picked up by anyone yet (and are unlikely given the slow recovery in the rest of the world) so perhaps they could pick them up at a later date however they were rumored to be very expensive leases so they might want to renegotiate those ones first.

Yes - its probably a case of letting the finance lessors take a bath first, and then hopefully pick them up at much more advantageous lease rates later on, cost of reconfig and a surplus of aircraft at the moment make it a great time to renegotiate lease rates.

The A330s would come cheap now, I expect. Minimal cost to the lessors. If VA want the A330s back then I'm sure they could have them at a very acceptable price. However, I don't think they do want them. Slightly off topic, but I think relevant given how many would be weighing up QF v VA going forward. If widebodies are important to you, there really is only one choice.
