Qantas to fast track airline loyalty program status

Yes, I believe that's true, but SC does apply for Fast Track program from what I understand - true though re 8 weeks, so would need to generate 50 SCs by end of July to be safe I assume.
Have you got a link that it does because I've been searching everywhere to see if it counts in case I get short change.

It specifically says in the T&C that SC does not count toward points accelerator program and that SC will credit after 8 weeks. Everything you just mentioned does not contribute to points accelerator program.
I read somewhere that Qantas had confirmed SCs from BP promotion count towards fast track requirement. The timing of credit is certainly another concern but assuming you completed a flight before the deadline but the SC only shows up after a week's time, you probably have a solid claim?!

Unfortunately I don't think there is a confirmation that SCs from QC enrolment/renewal are also eligible. The exclusion term relating to "points accelerator program" creates so much uncertainty.

Hence I don't want to rely on it with there's no concrete evident.
nothing is concrete in world of loyalty offers with Qantas, more like quicksand, however it has been posted further back in this thread with as good concrete as we can get.
QF want every single status member they can from any & every other airline.

Just to be clear, you're specifically referring to Points Accelerator, not Fast Track? (I'm not that experienced with QF promotions like this one, so want to be clear!)
Yes I'm talking about whether the 50SC counts towards the fast track or not.

Quick question as this is now such a long thread I can't find the answer:

I took up the Status Credit Gold challenge and was accepted on the 21st April 2021, and flew and earned 50SC with Qantas flights, then on the 1st June my SC balance was reset to zero with an "EXPIRED STATUS CREDITS" so my membership year anniversary is obviously the 1st June, then between the 3rd June and today I have earnt 45 more SC through flying. No other double status offers or other non-flying SC earn in play.

What are other experiences when the SC challenge in motion happens over a 12-month anniversary expiry event? I am still showing as Bronze on my membership page and have not received an email telling me that Gold has been achieved, or any hard copy gold card in the mail.

If the clock started ticking with 90 days from the 21st April then that means the 90 day offer expires on the 20th July 2021, and I have flights booked on the 21st July, have I just diddled myself out of Gold by falling short by 5SC?

Any suggestions as to what number to call or an email address to find out my actual status?

My understanding is that the two periods are mutually exclusive. The timer for the annual rollover happens independently of the timer for the fast track challenge. If you have met the FT to Gold challenge (flown the required 50SC's in the time period), then within 1-2 days of the SC's posting they'll advise you of successful completion. Then the system should automatically calculate any increase in QFF points for the flown flights (if any). Don't know if they post as separate transaction or they go back to uplift the original transaction - my gut feeling says the former.

My FT success confirmation Qantas to fast track airline loyalty program status was received 2 days after my flights posted:

Thanks for the quick reply, my next QF flights are on the 21st July which is a head-on-desk moment of bad planning given 90 days from the 21st Apr is the 20th July.

Anyway - I will find out a few days after the flights on the 21st July, and post the result here. Looks like I might achieve 95 SC in 91 days so that's a huge fail by me to use the status fast-track. :mad:Anyone know of a quick easy way to earn 5SC on the ground?

You should know within a couple of days after taking the final flights that reaches the SC threshold - you stated that you'd already met the 50 SC's of flying by the time of your annual rollover (unless some were booked before you registered for the Fast Track). I don't have any experience of whether the are counted or not - all of mine were booked after I registered.

The BP fuel offer may help for on the ground SC's - not sure if you can still register: 50SC on offer with BP with T&C's explicit:

Just for clarity for me - I assume you're referring to the Bonus Points promotion and not the 50 SC promotion for 5 * $50+ spend (as I couldn't find any reference to needing to 'activate the offer' for this latter promotion) - I'm double-checking as I've already done 3 * $50 spends at BP, and would be cranky at myself, if I missed a step!!

Yep sorry, should have clarified that I am interested in Status Credits only, I don't care about QFF points at all, from my reading of the BP offer there seems to be a wait of up to 4-6 for status credits and points to be awarded so yes its a decent offer for the med-long term but not a short term solution.

I haven't been watching the QFF program in a while but assume the only way to earn SC quickly is to book and fly on QF, i.e. no fast easy way to obtain SC on the ground in the timeframe of days not weeks other than a short status run.

1. 50 bonus Status Credits with Qantas Health Insurance (expired 13th July)

2. 80 Qantas Status Credits with a new card (couldn't get approval let alone meet spend target in a week)

3. 50 Status Credits with BP (takes 4-6 weeks for SC to turn up so not quick enough)

4. Up to 100 Status Credits with a new Qantas Club membership (cost is a ripoff if the aim is to achieve Gold status unless the Qantas Club membership kicked in after Gold status expires at some point in the future)

IF you have Qantas Club membership and you hit gold, your membership is paused until you drop down to silver again. So what you've paid doesn't go to waste.

Thanks for the follow-up replies and I can see what you are driving at there that if I did use this method to kick me over the line to make Gold I would actually get the benefits of gold and in the future, if I revert to silver then the Qantas Club membership would kick back in so worst case would be buying Qantas Club for 1 year and then actually getting access to the Qantas club for 2 years (one year through gold and then 1 year paid).

Anyway - I called QFF and after a bit of a wait, they confirmed that the intention is that people who have their membership anniversary status reset during their Gold status challenge won't affect the Gold status challenge as that is considered in its own separate "time frame" independent of the annual status reset. That's the intention anyway, lets see how the actual IT implementation of it works, as I have flights booked on the 21st which should kick me over the 100 SC earn. For some reason, my initial acceptance email dated the 21st April 2021 gives me until the 31st July 2021 to achieve the 100SC earn so that's actually more than 90 days.

A few other data points on this thread whose membership years reset during the challenge, with varying implementation. Some have had the upgrade correctly applied to the remainder of their "new" membership year plus the following, whereas in my case, they only applied it to the "previous" membership year, so in practice I was only given Gold for 11 months and technically the clock for retaining Gold started ticking before I'd even completed the challenge.

I was able to fix that, and I now have Gold for the remainder the new membership year and the next one to retain. It was quite the runaround getting there, but persistence pays off.

For those playing at home, I just received my 50 bonus SC for renewing my Qantas Club membership and have been upgraded to Gold through the Fast Track.

Ditto. I renewed my Qantas Club membership on 22 June, the bonus SC posted last week and my status changed to Gold two days after that.
