Qantas to fast track airline loyalty program status

Ditto. I renewed my Qantas Club membership on 22 June, the bonus SC posted last week and my status changed to Gold two days after that.
Just wondering if you renewed by $$ or points?
I renewed for two years with points as I have a bucket load. No SC's yet and it was on the 19th of June. I took a screenshot of it saying that I would get 100 SC's, even when paying with points.

I renewed with cash on Jun 22nd and the SCs were only credited on the 26th of July.

I’d suggest following up but not until the six weeks have passed as stated in the Terms and Conditions.

I received QF Gold status fast track back in March. It had been years since I last flew with the airline after a number of less than satisfactory experiences including being stuck in Singapore for an extended period when management shut down the airline to punish its staff.

I've decided to go back to VA. I've only had positive experiences with them over a long time since I took up their own status match. I don't need to wait on hold for close to three hours to speak to someone. Their fares are significantly lower than QF. Service is always friendly and efficient. Status is so much easier to attain and retain. VA is value for money in every way I look at it.

I had booked the offer from QF for double status credits across the Tasman. It would have earned me significant status credits to retain QF gold. I was sent an email from QF saying they had changed my flights. These things happen and are understandable. However I had paid for business class seats and QF decided to downgrade my booking to economy. That is precisely the type of thing I experienced with them in years gone by. During the three hours it took to speak to someone I decided to cancel the NZ trip and asked for a refund which I was told would take about seven or so weeks.

So good to be back with VA.

That is a real pity to read of your experiences Zinger. Don't blame you for your choice. I had honestly thought downgrades were a thing of the past. As for the call waits.. I have long been a critic of this shameful situation (and I am one who never has to wait to get a call answered but it's absolutely NOT about me).

best wishes with VA

Any prospect of another extension beyond 30 September, given Sydney lockdown now extended until then?

Another extension has already been announced (for those with years ending January to June):

If your membership year ends in July-December then you should already know what you need to do to get an extension through to July-December 2022 from the extension announced last year.

It's possible there could be further extensions but that depends on how slowly/quickly state and international borders reopen.

I think you’ll find the question is in relation to the Fast Track Status Challenge not standard FF.

At this stage they haven’t announced any further extension, but logic (dangerous term to use) would suggest it’ll have to occur.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully completed the Qantas Status Fast Track and we are now delighted to welcome you as a Gold Qantas Frequent Flyer. Your Gold status is valid until 30 June 2023.

BP STATUS CREDIT SPEND +50 and QANTAS FLIGHTS +60

Yahoo! My first Qantas Gold! AND almost 2 years worth...

Perhaps this has been asked before. Do CC signup status bonuses count?

I did the BP status bonus thing, but that has;t been posted to my account yet (I finished it 31 July). (50 points)

I did the COVID status bonus, which HAD been posted. (15 points)

I signed up for the Qantas Amex Business rewards card and will spend the required amount within a day or two of the card being issued to me. (50 points)

I also have a flight to Melbourne late in September, so hopefully, that will be posted in time. (20 points)

The Fast Track program finishes and the end of September, do you think there will be any problem getting the status upgrade?

Only issue may be the time it takes the amex points to credit. You're doing the right thing by doing the spend as soon as the card arrives.

Assume this is the right thread to post this - from QF today via email.

To assist, as of 10 September 2021, we're pleased to confirm that we are giving all members currently enrolled in our Qantas Status Fast Track more time to complete the challenge.

You now have until 28 February 2022 to earn 100 Status Credits in order to receive Qantas Gold Status. Your access to
the Qantas Club will also be extended to this date.

Yeah I just got off the phone with Qantas as well. It seems that that announcement is correct. I would like to verify also with people who know about Qantas elite status. If my membership year is end of December and I get Qantas gold with this fast track in January. Do I get to keep it till December 2022 or December 2023? Looking to try and maximise my gold status.

Another question as well. If you had booked your flight during the double status promo but have not been able to utilise it due to lockdown and it's still under the same booking reference. Does that mean the flight is still entitled to double status regardless of any changes to the flight?

Great news! I didn't receive the email, but I got a personal phone call from QFF earlier this afternoon letting me know (as I had been on the phone with them recently about just this). This should be plenty of time for those us in Vic/NSW to actually be able to fly and earn the SC.

Wow a personal call from QFF - they are making effort, aren't they! They sent me an email, because I happened to enquire what was happening with Fast Track a few days ago and above is their reply.
