Qantas to fast track airline loyalty program status

After I lost my status, Qantas sent me an email giving me an additional month to book a flight and get back to Silver. I need to go to Melbourne in Oct so I took the bait. I'm back baby!
Fear not, status isn't always the ultimate game , especially
in the current market climate

I will fly any airline that will take me to London if the government will just let me out (not going to happen as my “compelling” and “compassionate” reason doesn’t fit their extremely narrow definition). At the moment if I could go that would be Singapore Airlines to go via Singapore (on the UK Green List) as QANTAS is not flying.

A bit off-topic but if you end up getting an exemption to leave then keep an eye out for the next round of repatriation flights. Qantas sells the flights from AU to UK (or other places) as regular fares however these flights often leave from Darwin with limited service onboard.

I applied for the fast track program many weeks ago - still no response from Qantas. I gather this is their way of saying I didn't make the cut?

I made it to NZ and back before they closed the border 2 weeks ago and also got the Qantas CC and met the spend but have yet to see the 80 SC hit my account. This will take me over the line for my match! I am doing the BP SC promo too since I fill up there anyway

Hopefully, the email didn't end up in junk (I think my initial might have). It's probably too late now but you could always try sending an email to [email protected] and see what they say.

I signed up for Qantas Club and sent an email to the Fast-Track team to notify them of this along with a copy of the tax invoice. I received a reply this morning to advise that the bonus 50 SC could take 6 weeks to post but also that my completion date had been extended to 30 September. So that should see me comfortably over the line as I was only 5 SC shy of the target.

I now see that AusBT/Executive Traveller are saying that everyone has had their completion date extended to end September.

Congratulations on fulfilling the requirements. Just a piece of information for you to consider your next move - I also took a trip to Auckland mid June and within 2 or 3 days, got the SC reflected (might be even just the next day?). Very soon after that, definitely within a week, I got the double SC bonus credited to the account and my fast track to Gold was confirmed at the same time.

It appears to me nowadays it's always a draw of luck - perhaps 95% of the case the automated system works perfectly and you breeze through but then if you are the unlucky 5%, the vendor (in this case Qantas) would not have available resources to help you and fix the issue promptly. I still remember the dates when fixing the problems on the spot was the motto in customer service 🙁

I should clarify - I received an email from Qantas asking me to send them proof of Gold FF status, which I did - I have just resent the proof as I never got a response.

Did you get an automated reference number when you responded with proof of gold status? Does your Qantas account show club status (check the phone app digital card)?

I feel like an email may have gone missing here.

Would like to check how this Fast Track work now that it 's been extended to end of September. If I qualify for Gold during that time and my qualifying period is 31st December 2021. Does that mean I only have gold until end of 2022?

Correct, until end of 2022.

only end of 2022 ??

Not log enough for you? 18 months?

only have to get 100SC for 18months status.

I'm Dec 2022, not bad a deal at all.
I have no doubt QF will offer further offers in early 2022 to extend further.

I will be very pleased if I can get Gold during Fast Track promotion and I have Gold until late 2022. It's been a bit more complex for me though, as QF kind of got confused which Fast Track promotion I was part of and it's taken a while to unravel!

Given I can barely fly after of lockdown in Melbourne and Sydney and also the fact that I'm not sure if my double status credit promo will hold up. It's been a bit of a struggle getting the 100SC tbh.

yeah ok, but spend $250 ($50 in 5 visits) at BP & you'll collect 50SC, half way. throw in a credit card if possible & your there without entering a terminal.

QF is certainly giving those who want Gold a decent shot at it - if only the borders can re-open / stay open long enough for 1 or 2 interstate trips...

As I have qualified with my trip to NZ earlier, I did not pursue but am still wondering if one can apply for Qantas Club (renewal with the complimentary membership on fast track enrolment?), pay for 2 years to get 100 SC to get to Gold, suspend the QC membership whilst a FF Gold, enjoy the QC benefits for 2 years when the Gold status is no longer maintained. Seems to be an even spend of a few hundred dollars on a pure status run trip, especially under current pandemic scenario

It specifically says in the T&C that SC does not count toward points accelerator program and that SC will credit after 8 weeks. Everything you just mentioned does not contribute to points accelerator program.

Yes, I believe that's true, but SC does apply for Fast Track program from what I understand - true though re 8 weeks, so would need to generate 50 SCs by end of July to be safe I assume.
