Qantas to fast track airline loyalty program status

I was expecting to be back at Bronze when I logged in today as I only obtained 225/250 SC for my membership year. I did not book a flight after 23 November - 31 May where my membership ended a couple days ago. It still has me at Silver for another year. Could there be a delay in moving me back to Bronze ? Just lucky ?

It usually takes a few days to update. If you're still Silver next week, then you may have got lucky. :)

That said, perhaps you may have inadvertently qualified for the automatic status extension by booking a Qantas flight.

Ticked off my 100 (well 115 to be precise) Status Points yesterday on two legs.

Was impressed to see how quick the points posted etc. Will see how long it takes to shift to Gold.

I'm in the fortunate basket as my QF date is May 31 so I'll have two full years almost to the day. Although to be honest, not sure how much I'll use it, was reminded why I jumped ship from QF to VA.

Same here, seldom use the QF, much prefer VA.
Done well with 2 years of it though.
The recent 30% off reward seats was great offer though.

Same here. I moved over to VA when they offered a status match shortly after Joyce shut down the airline and left people like me stranded overseas with no assistance at all. Since then I have been a very happy platinum VA flyer.
My recent business class flights wth QF have been mediocre at best. Service is very inconsistent. I found the food offerings to be far inferior. Then there's the much higher cost to fly QF. Even without lounge access in my home port of CNS and a few other ports I'll happily keep the bulk of my business with VA.

Cairns VA lounge will return.
Hrdlicka playing the AJ game, waiting for lower offer to continue the lease of the space.
Rather obvious to me.

I do hope so. When things return to normal and there are hundreds of extra tourists waiting near the gates the lounge will be a peaceful haven again. It really was possibly the most pleasant of all VA lounges with the great views and staff.

Back to Bronze. Worst day of my life.

A bit of an odd one:

My membership year ends May 31. I did my FastTrack from March 31 - June 30. I ticked over 100 yesterday and while I see my online account already showing Gold which is nice, it shows the status as being valid only until May 2022.

That means I'm only getting status for ~11 months, not the 12 the FastTrack terms state, let alone the remainder of my current membership year and the next.

This also seems to be inconsistent with others whose FastTrack period overlapped two membership years. Any advice before I call?

EDIT: Just sent an e-mail; no reason to sit around fretting. Will update on outcome for others.

I've earned 95 of the required 100 status credits with a target complete date of 30th June. At the start of May I ruptured my Achilles so have been unable to travel. Added to this I'm in VIC meaning there's been limited opportunity with all the border closures.

I'm therefore considering taking up the current Qantas Club offer which provides 50 status credits when you sign up for one year. My concern is that the website states that it can take 6 weeks for these credits to be applied. I spoke with QFF yesterday and was advised that I would qualify for Gold as soon as the credits hit my account. But I'm still a bit nervous as it will be a complete waste of $480/74,000 points if they review my activity on 30th June and automatically delete me from the Fast Track Challenge.

Does anyone know if signing up for Qantas Club is a sure-fire bet to get me over the line?

Looking for some info on this too - if the SC land straight away I'd sign up as it would effectively give me lounge access for the remainder of my current Membership year + 1 year SG + 1 year QC membership for $480.

Please check very carefully. I am no expert but did look at the option of using Wantas Club bonus SC for a similar purpose but came across a note in the T&Cs that those SCs were excluded from various status fast track challenges. Did not look into details nor clarify with Qantas as I am super cautious and just decided to play safe (and completed by status run 15/6)! Phew…

Looks like it will be a near miss for me on getting to Gold with this offer. I'm 40 credits short at the moment and my SYD-CBR-SYD work trip tomorrow would have put me over 100 but given the announcements today the trip has been cancelled.
Can't imagine there's any other way I'll be able to get the required 40 in the week I have left, but certainly open to suggestions.

I've given this a crack. The wording in the Terms and Conditions is ambiguous enough to make it unclear. Worst case I still have lounge access until Jun 2022 for $360 so worth a shot.

Expiry date on my virtual QFF card updated as soon as payment went through - no sign of the bonus SCs yet.

I am already gold via fast track, does purchasing of the Qantas Club helps to extend QC access beyond my gold membership ends? Say if I buy two years, and my gold status ends Jan 2023, I will have another two years of access until Jan 2025? Is that how it works?

That's how I understand it would work. Typically for Gold status holders your QC membership will be put on hold until you fall back down to silver status. Not sure if you can purchase QC membership while Gold though.

My membership card and a gold "100 years" bag tag showed up in the post this week. Nice touch considering i'd previously had gold tags so I wasn't expecting any.
