Just an update for people put off by the Earning threshold requirement for this card. The requirement is a personal or HOUSEHOLD income of $65 000 or more. My partner was approved today for this card with an income of $26 00 PA, (part-time for a not for profit office) but with my income being over $100 000, she met the requirement and was approved.....so another 112 500 points to her.....me:p, and another 20 000 points to me.

Now if anyone else wants to take advantage of this card...feel free to use my referral link http://amex.com.au/refer/johnh909t ....remember that you get 112 500 points and I get 20 000 points.

You have until Tuesday....it's a great deal IMO

Two more 'Refer a Friend bonus' entries landed in my points summary overnight - big thanks to the two members who applied using my link!

Sorry, I thought I fixed it. Here is the correct one if you are still needing one

http://amex.com.au/refer/andresuNzt

You get 110,000 (possibly 112500) and I get 20,000

to generate your own link, log into your account and on the top ribbon select 'rewards' then on the right side of the options that drop down you will see 'refer friends and earn rewards'

20K coming your way Steady. Cheers

Applied and approved using your link Steady, should be another 20k for you!

Last call - the offer expires TODAY - you can get up to 112,500 Qantas frequent flyer points and I will get 20,000 if you apply using my referral link:

http://amex.com.au/refer/markuhVdP8

Details below.

Leaving my run a bit late - this offer expires on 30 January 2017 - but if you apply for the Qantas American Express Ultimate Card using my referral link below, you can get up to 112,500 Qantas frequent flyer points (see below) and I will get 20,000:

http://amex.com.au/refer/markuhVdP8

Details and 'terms & conditions' of the offer are available by clicking the link, but I will summarise the key points. Also, I have held this card for about six months and have used it a fair bit so I am happy to answer any questions about this card via PM.

Firstly, the 112,500 bonus points for you are made up of:

-5,000 Qantas Points after your first Card spend within 3 months of the Card approval date;
-105,000 Qantas Points after you spend $1,500 on purchases with your new Card within 3 months of the Card approval date; and

-2,500 Qantas Points after your first Card spend on selected Qantas products and services in Australia (flights, flight gift vouchers, seat selection payment, flight award fees etc.).

Other features of the card:

-3 Qantas Points per dollar spent at tens of thousands of restaurants in Australia, and selected Qantas products and services in Australia-2 Qantas Points per dollar spent on airlines, accommodation, major cruise and tour operators paid directly or through travel agencies, and spend in foreign currency when overseas and online
-1 Qantas Point per dollar spent at all other providers, excluding those listed as earning 0.5 points below and insurances offered by American Express
-0.5 Qantas Points per dollar spent on utilities (gas, water and electricity providers), insurance offered by companies other than American Express, telecommunication providers (including goods and services purchased from phone, mobile and internet service providers) and government bodies including the Australian Taxation Office, Australia Post, federal/state and local government bodies

-A complimentary Qantas domestic return Economy flight to a range of cities each Membership year after your first Card spend on selected Qantas products and services.

-Complimentary access up to two entries per calendar year to the American Express Lounge at Sydney International (Kingsford Smith) Airport T1.

-Complimentary domestic and overseas travel insurance

-0% p.a. on balance transfers for the first 12 months — A one-off credit plan establishment fee of 1% applies to any balances transferred.

-An annual fee of $450

The sign-up bonus alone make this a very juicy offer, and the free flight helps further justify the annual fee. Furthermore, I find the higher earn rates on selected spend categories make this is a valuable card to hold on to; the 3 points per dollar at restaurants and cafes add for anyone who eats out at all, though where I have really made hay is earning 2 points per dollar on three business class flights to Europe bought through Expedia. This really is a great card for someone who spends a lot on travel given the double points on a number of travel-related categories and the triple points on selected Qantas services.

Well, my application was just approved with over six times the limit I wanted to apply for. Grr. I really hope, like with other amex applications, the actual value of the application doesn't make it to my credit file. If so, a correction may need to be in order.

The other thing I wanted to advise was they put the application 'on hold until I call them' and the call was just to ask if i wanted a balance transfer... not thrilled about that to be honest.

The same thing happened to Mrs 2tall4Y, even though she had indicated in her application that she didn't want a balance transfer.

Anex obviously keen for people to transfer balances to them (not sure why you would given they charge a 1% establishment fee and there are better balance transfer offers elsewhere), but it's an unnecessary hold-up in my mind.

20K coming your way Steady. Cheers

I have itchy fingers ... I will apply for the card using your referral link :)

Two more referral credits appeared in my account overnight, so I am hoping you did successfully apply for the card?

In any case, thank you to all those people who used my link during this generous referral campaign.

Hi guys i used a link in this thread to apply before the end date. I got my card today but there is absolutely no mention anywhere of the bonus points or how to earn them. I also cant find my qf number anywhere on my account. I know how to earn them but find it weird amex dont include this info.

Edit: i spoke with amex and they said that the card had to be approved before the 31/1. But they said they would try and get it changed.

Don't stress about not mention of the special offer in the post pack, this is standard practice. Just check the credit terms on your contract are OK. Also, check once your first purchase settles you should get 5k bonus points.
