Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

Not very active around here but just wanted to share my success story as a Bronze (Points Club +) ... Successful upgrade from Saver Y all the way to J on QF1 Syd - Sin. Received text at T-27. I'm over the moon!
Great to hear @SnowGoose , rubs salt into @Cheesey Mac a little, ha!

No better example of the lottery that QF upgrade play is.

Congrats - two weeks ago I had a full flex fare as WP and stayed all the way back for 7 hours!

Successful Y -> J upgrade at T-60 on QF67 SYD-BLR as a WP.

First time to India and was wondering how I would go with the upgrade given no PE. Looks like quite bit of availability with 9 J seats still not selected. Economy also looked quite open with lots of empty rows of 4 before I was upgraded.
And success on the return QF-68 BLR-SYD at T-27

Was getting nervous as cabin is pretty full with only 2 seats remaining. Bangalore was a fun trip.

I’m on Qf11 Y+ reward this Friday (2nd August) and looks like 10 or so business seats remaining.

Bidding minimum $1,100-1,300 seems to be better value than the 73,400pts but I think that’ll put me way down the list? Any views on this? Has anyone been successful bidding from Y+ to J?

Looks like way more than 10 J seats open on thus flight. More like 20-22

Bidding any amount will put you at the very bottom of the list, after all the classic upgrade requests have been processed. Unless you don’t have the points to do it, or the option isn’t available, I’d suggest you put in a classic upgrade request instead.

Cheers,
Matt.

Today my WP colleague got the same QF67 Y->J upgrade at check in for free without even asking. J cabin was really empty.

Hi All

Family x4 booked QF11 in November Premium economy sale fare return SYD-LAX all one booking.

Points upgrade requested to J class for all 4 people with myself the reqester being Gold status.

I assume that upgrading 4 people is alot harder than a smaller amount. Will they offer to separate us and upgrade some of our booking ?

Advice on the chances of success please?

Many thanks

Chances for four? Much harder than one or two, but November us shoulder season and US premium loads are down apparently so hey.. you could get lucky. plus coming from PE definitely increases chances a liot.

Good luck.
