Success J-F on QF8 was silver when requested and up until t-30 which is when both my status changed to gold and I was approved. Original ticket booked in I as part of an AY RTW fare.

Success. J > F on QF93 MEL to LAX 27Aug. WP notified at T-61. Appears that maybe 3-4 other J>F upgrade requests were processed at this time.

Mine are generally successful as platinum the knock backs were London Perth (wrong day of the week) and Sydney Singapore both ways. The day of the week is a big one. I tend to travel ex Australia for late week conferences Monday’s are good for going and Saturdays hopeless for coming back. Agree Sydney is a hopeless except for DFW; starting point being Canberra based routing Brisbane or Melbourne if not to DFW

Unsuccessful upgrade from Y to PE/J (x2) on QF36 on 26/09 as a Platinum. I usually get a SMS but surprisingly didn't this time.
The upper deck in economy will be missed, it certainly made the trip better.

(Platinum) Upgrade Reward request to Premium Economy on QF25 from SYD to HND on 22AUG was confirmed by SMS at T-29. QF staff was in the seat next to mine when I boarded but I was moved to an empty bulkhead row prior to takeoff...

I had no such luck on Grand Final Eve last year on my way from MEL to LHR on QF9...

QF81 SYD-SIN Economy (S) to J on Fri 13 Sep - notified at T-27.5 hrs
QF82 SIN-SYD Economy (H) to J on Thu 26 Sep - notified at T-0.01 hrs

The inbound QF82 was showing 0 in all J buckets until a day or so out, when 1 seat reappeared. That stuck right up until I reached the gate, where the beautiful red light appeared on the scanner.

The one and only I have had was SYD-SIN back in 2011 or 2012. I was booked in Y+ and was bumped to J and I landed seat 1K on a 747. I was pretty happy about that!

No luck this year. QF Platinum. I have racked up 2100 status credit this year (Starts 1 Mar) and have not been offered one upgrade either economy or business class ticket.

Sorry for my ignorance, are these are upgrades paid with points? I have SYD - HK booked for end of year and can see the option to request upgrade with a hefty points payment (55k one way), trying to decide if it's worth it or not

Same here. Made sure that I did SYD-HKG on the 747's before they retire was worth it

Mrs HockeyMonkey and I were both successful overnight.

On separate bookings, she is NB and I am WP and we both got a Y->J upgrade on QF93 MEL-LAX flying tomorrow.
