Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

Oh agree there, but don’t have that problem as I don’t fly for work internationally any more.

I love the QF Upgrade Fairy...

Had success on QF16 LAX to BNE on 7 January at about T-25 hours for 2 pax one WP and one SG from PE to J. Currently 7 rows apart.

Still waiting for QF12 on the same day and shows 2 seats available. I guess we’ll see what happens at the airport but over the moon for the long flight to be up the front!

Quasi success with QF10 on 9 Dec - requested Y to J, received Y to Y+ (for 2, both Silver)
Then success with QF582 from Y to J

QF10 load was full in both J and Y+. Both upgrades notified around T-22

Success with QF38 SIN to MEL on 6 Jan. At about T-30 for 1 pax SG from Y to J.

Not a topic for this thread, but as much as I appreciated the sleep on the way home, QFF J was quite underwhelming after QR's.

Upgrade success on QF20 Y to J for 1xWP and 1xSG on Jan 13.

I chose the flight months ago as it was the only QF20 showing lots of J availability around this time and hoped it would stay this way...got down to 3 seats left and received that welcome text at T-24!

Can anyone tell me J loads on QF93 on 25/1, and QF94 on 30/1? My expertflyer account has expired and I'm winding back the travel this year due to birth of my first child. Can't justify the cost on one or two flights!

Thank you very much. Looking good for upgrades!

Booked 2/1/19. Upgrade requested 2/1/19 as WP.

Jan 25 - QF93. Y > J. Upgrade granted some 60 hours before flight. Never happened that early for me as a platinum.

Y to PE upgrade success for tomorrow, 25 Jan on QF36, SIN-MEL at T-26. Now to grab 24A for the unlimited legroom. It is currently showing as blocked on EF but may have some luck at the lounge when I get to SIN from HAN.

Success on QF 10 PER-MEL Y+ to J for 9000 points in the Lounge. The original booking was a Classic reward in Y+ 27000 points each way.

It was interesting I couldn't do it on line so tried the chat function and told it would be 26000 points then rang the Premium Line and was told initially that it was impossible to do an upgrade on a classic award. HUACA and was told yes it was possible but one way would 16000 points plus a change fee of 5000 points I opted not to go ahead.

Qantas Consistently Inconsistent LOL :) :) :)

Unsuccessful on QF2 LHR-SYD on 2 Feb for Flex Y to J upgrade. Advised at T-11h by SMS
ExpertFlyer was showing plenty of availability a week ago, but then two days ago it switched to F1 A0 J0 C0 D0 I0 W1 R0 T0 Y2 B0 H0K0 M0 L0 G0 - must have been a cancellation somewhere in the system. It's going to be a long flight home in my trusty 33G.
