Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

2 x discount J to F on the SIN-LHR leg of QF1 on 27 Dec, which came through in the middle of the night before (always a good text to be woken by!). We are both WP. No luck for the same leg on QF2 on 12 Jan, even though there were 2 seats showing on Expert Flyer and the request had been made at the time of booking, whereas the successful QF1 request was lodged only a few weeks before travel.

QF2 SIN-SYD 12/1 J to F - no success. Had zero to low hopes anyway with availability showing F1 in the days prior

Need to make sure that the flight is at least ticketed before putting an upgrade request in or it gets stuck in the queue. Putting in the upgrade request before getting an e-ticket PDF email is a guaranteed way to miss out on an upgrade.

SYD - LAX J to F on 19/1 confirmed. Question to the folks here - I have a middle row seat (which is perfectly fine in F) but Expert Flyer is showing 5A available (blocked on the Qantas seat map presumably since it’s marked as a “baby” seat). Should I try and move into that if it opens up? It seems pretty close to the galley…

There's really no bad F seat. Galley has never been an issue for me.

Travelling solo, I'd take any A seat over the rest.
