Also received the status match confirmation email about half an hour ago. Nice that review date isn't based off the original application date. Now the next challenge will be if I will be able to get some benefit out of it seeing as we're still a while off unrestricted travel. I'm new to OW but can anyone give a simple breakdown of the benefits of QR gold and platinum benefits if flying domestically with QF?

lounge. if qf does priority boarding at all

Got the Platinum email too!

Who's up for a lounge crawl at MEL/SYD once the travel restrictions are relaxed? :D

Good to see that Qatar finally got around the processing these :)

For those who've been upgraded, has Qatar sent you any specific info on the requirements to renew your status in 12 months?

I understand Platinum should get you into the Business Lounge for Domestic and FIrst for International.

Wonder if there will be any pushback from Qantas, or they will see it as a good thing to steal business while things start picking up again...

@Mattg :
  • 540 Qpoints are required before 06 June 2021 to renew your Platinum Tier

Didn't the original promotion say that you would only need 300 Qpoints to renew Platinum in the first year after getting the match? 540 is the number of Qpoints you would normally need in 12 months to renew Platinum.

It's also unclear to me whether the normal requirement to take at least 4 QR flights would apply. There was no mention one way or the other in the original offer T&Cs.

I didn’t receive the status match yet. I’m currently Platinum velocity but also Silver with Qatar already due to some business in Doha. Anyone else not receive it?

My Platinum matched and also my wifes Gold.

Might well decide to earn Q-Miles on any Qantas trips I take in the coming year.

So, this gets me into Qantas lounges on domestic trips yeah?

From the Qantas website:

"
oneworld lounge access for frequent flyers by tier status
Enjoy exclusive access to premium airport lounges around the world with Qantas Frequent Flyer Platinum and Gold status. Members of oneworld airline frequent flyer programmes with the equivalent of oneworld Emerald or Sapphire tier status can use any lounge offered by any oneworld member airline when departing on any flight marketed and operated by any oneworld member airline, regardless of cabin class being flown.
"

So now I'm emerald I can access QF First lounges even when flying QF economy?

Thanks for that info.
One, there's going to be so many virgin members with Qatar status for QF lounge entry, of all things being as they were pre covid with open lounges, I dare say they'll be quite full.
Although does depend if virgin get back flying with lounges & sufficient flight numbers with planes etc. For us to stick with.

To access QF lounge on Qatar oneworld status, you don't have to book a QR flight no. do you? Put your FF to QR to access lounge or ok to use QF for all flight details. I did read this info on earlier thread here, just re-confirming.
