On the positive assumption that a status match occurs, I was turning my attention to how I could maintain gold status --- am I correct in assuming that since qmiles can be selected when travelling on QF flights, including I believe domestic flights, qpoints accrue as well?
Also, if above assumption is correct, does anyone know what qpoints would accrue on aust domestic flights? (E.g. syd-melb)
It feels like a strange question but the q calculator is unhelpful in this regard.
The Qatar Airways website states:
Accrual on Qantas domestic flights are only eligible when they are in conjunction with an international flight marketed by either Qantas or Qatar Airways on the same ticket.
Also note that Qpoints & Qmiles are only earned on these QF Economy fare classes: Y, B, H, K, M, L, V. This basically rules out the cheaper Economy fares.
(See QF fare types here - Qantas Class Types | Frequent Flyer)
I have contacted Qatar Airways to ask whether this is still accurate and am still waiting for a reply. Unless they update their program, renewing QR status beyond 12 months is going to be unviable for many Australians.
