QF Double Status Credits (SC) offer for all :)

I've just registered for this promo, received an email acknowledgement, and there was no mention of the 180-day rule, even though I had received and used a SC offer about 5 months ago.

I will achieve WP this year with existing bookings and need another 250 SC's or so to retain WP next year. I was planning to get these additional SC's via a MH intra-Asia business class return trip (via their recent promo), and I do not intend to change my mind, given all this uncertainty regarding whether QF will honour this offer.

So QF will miss out on a few more dollars.

Anyone have a good SC run that i can do in a Day from SYD?
Thinking SYD to CNS in J via BNE or something. Dont know better ones.

How to capitalise on this once in a blue moon event..
SYD-BNE-HKG-BNE-SYD on Saturday 03 September and returning next morning is $730 and earns 160 SCs.

If you get to WP before 30 Sep 16 you will stay WP until 30 Sep 17 (at least) and thus would have SG until (at least) 30 Sep 18.

Whether WP is worth the cost of a status run for 540 SCs is up to you, seeing you already get lounge access as SG.
Ah, so doing it before 30 Sep 16 is better.

UPDATE

Sent email to Lesley Grant and have since had a phone conversation with a team member who will email me confirming eligibility.

1) 180 day rule DOES NOT apply.
2) Clarified that it can not be used in conjunction with other or current offers.

Will post extract of email once received.

UPDATE

Email received but wont post extract as Red Roo already confirmed as well :D

OT but ...
Hi,

I will be reaching SG for the first time in mid-July with a year ending 30 Sep.

My current bookings are 520/540 SCs away from getting WP (not sure what class of economy I would get for a MEL - SYD leg of MEL - SYD - SFO booking in Premium Economy)

Would I be better off trying to get WP for this year with a soft drop to SG or would I be better doing a status run in October to get a head start on retaining SG?

Very likely your MEL-SYD would be booked into a flex Y category I believe, but you can tell what booking class is fromyour booking
as in the flight details - "Confirmed(H)" or whatever.

Absolutely perfect timing - I have all my 1600+ SC wiped on Saturday night and a heap of flights that I need to book for the coming 12 months - so let's make the most of it I think!! Thanks Qantas.

Perhaps they are concerned too many fliers will get too many bonus SCs and there will be too many SG and WPs earning their status from bonus SCs.

And spend lots of money buying flights. .... Again. Still confused

It's in fare B, so how much will that get me. Will affect what I book using the double SC offer.

Just saw this this morning, haven't had a DSC offer for probably 5 years and typically made a few bookings last night. Ohh well.

Ring up and cancel them - say they were a mistake. Often QF give you a 24hr window to change them after booking in case they were a mistake. Worth the phone call to double check.

got my registration email just now, now have until 4/5 to book away...

Has anyone in NZ received this offer or is it Au only?

The implication since it's on the QF website (OK not the NZ one I guess) is that it's global. I say register and enjoy!
T&C didn't say anything about residency, just QF flights

Cool, so my T premium economy would earn at Premium Economy rates right?

So B domestic, T international I would get 220 SC for MEL - SYD - SFO standard earn, correct?

This would mean I need to get 520 SCs from status runs. So 480 SC run in J + one visit to ADL or SYD in discount economy should do it.

Thanks.

I like that they've made a definitive statement about the eligible codeshare flights. Warm fuzzys that they pandered to my ramblings on this point for the recent double points offer.

or the following Qantas marketed flights with a QF flight number on the ticket: American Airlines operated flights on the following routes; Sydney to Los Angeles (QF309), Los Angeles to Sydney (QF310), Auckland to Los Angeles (QF3225) and Los Angeles to Auckland (QF3226).

Technically Qantas offer same day no mistakes guarantee, they always offer the ability to change/cancel on the same day. Whether that extends to 24 hours will depend on the phone operator.

Perhaps a silly question, but would QF flight numbers, but on EK metal (ex dubai) still attract this offer..ie flying to/from MXP from Dubai?

no, Qantas operated and some codeshares only

An Eligible Flightfor the purpose of this promotion means any Qantas operated flight with a QF flight number on the ticket where Status Credits are normally earned, or the following Qantas marketed flights with a QF flight number on the ticket: American Airlines operated flights on the following routes; Sydney to Los Angeles (QF309), Los Angeles to Sydney (QF310), Auckland to Los Angeles (QF3225) and Los Angeles to Auckland (QF3226).
