Thanks Quickstatus...might need to re-arrange some of my travel to change to QF metal!!!

Spurs10 just be careful with this.

Assuming that you have already made a booking Via QF but on Ek metal prior to this offer being published, just changing flights today will not make you eligible.

You will actually need to cancel and make a new booking during the booking period of 28 Apr-4May

Fantastic timing Qantas.

Was just about to book flights to Europe with Cathay until this came along.

Now by my calculations if I fly Qantas, I'll be 3 short of requalifying for WP (thanks to a 50% bonus somewhere along the way).

Mr FM and Dr FM got it, but currently no-one else in the family. Not planning to use it. Last year we did around 2,500 status credits. This year less than 600 and not planning to book anything with Qantas......

Everyone got the offer. It's on the website.

Pretty good timing for me. Was about to book 2 J journeys to Asia and one to Europe. Looking at Cathay and SQ. Might now flip back to QF. Still more expensive but double J SCs evens the scales.

Ring up and cancel them - say they were a mistake. Often QF give you a 24hr window to change them after booking in case they were a mistake. Worth the phone call to double check.

That wasn't my experience a few weeks ago. Rang up to cancel 10 mins after making a booking citing a mistake and telling them what it is, waiting 10 mins for call back and was told it would cost $400 to cancel regardless.

What mistakes do we waive?
We are flexible at Qantas. If you have made an error while making your booking, we'll waive the service and change fees associated with correcting the mistake. For example, you may:

  • Correct the spelling of your name
  • Change time, day or month of your flight
  • Change your to and/or from destination
  • Swap gateways (eg - if you accidentally book London to Sydney, instead of Sydney to London)
  • Change fare type or cabin

Same Day No Mistake | Qantas

Thanks Happy Trails. My error was the to destination. Still refused to change without charge.

Though I'm still peeved with Qantas at the moment because of yesterday's flight debacle I'm looking forward to booking under my very first double SC offer :)

Thanks QF. booked my P1 requal flights for this Sunday to get it out of the way :D happy me!

I've been told by a Qantas agent that Qantaslink flights operated by Sunstate are excluded from this double SC promotion. So regional flyers eg BNE-NTL on Sunstate operated flights will apparently not earn double SC. This exclusion seems peculiar.

that seeems VERY odd. The regionals have always been considered QF operated and there's nothing in the T&C. I bet that agent was confused with the wording about "partner airlines"

I was "online chatting" with her for nearly an hour as she made various attempts to find out why the calculator on the promo page did not return DSC for BNE-NTL. She typed that she rang quite a few resources including the Loyalty team and finally came back with this "exclusion" reason. Not sure who her source for this final "reason" was but she typed that it's because BNE-NTL is operated by Sunstate. Other Qantaslink services however do earn DSC. Still not sure what makes Sunstate such a pariah in this promo.

looks like another one for Red Roo to check on.

Maybe the calculator on the promo page may not be definitive of what is or is not included after all. On the "Best status run" thread, Aussie_flyer has suggested OOL-MEL-ADL for a great DSC earn. However (it makes no sense) OOL-MEL or vv does not return DSC on the promo page calculator. Some flights are mainline QF (so one would assume absolutely has to be included), others National Jets Qantaslink. What a buggy DSC guide calculator on a promo page.
