Seems like a win-win scenario that simplifies things for both QF and its customers. Thumbs up.

The devil will be in the detail

I just can't see QF giving out SC's to every Classic Award booking unless that really is a flying pig going past my window.
Agree.....
AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements
So business and first QF awards are excluded!:shock:...WHY? Not many AFFers will want to use their hard earned QF pts to book Y awards with a few notable exceptions. And we are both correct
Qantas now offering status credits for 'classic' award seats - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller
Disc Y until 31st Dec

Bait to the masses to encourage points burn?
You'd have to burn a lot of points for discount Y SC's to do you much good.

True - WE know that but do the masses get it?
So it's -
1) A limited time offer.
2) Only SC earn at Discount Economy rates on regular Economy fares.
3) MASA's unaffected
4) Maybe it will be expanded for higher cabins but nothing at the moment.
Okay, I can live with that, not too much to get excited about unless you regularly fly in whY.
Considering there are NO negatives I would hope everyone can live with it
The big relief here is that the MASAs are not planned to be withdrawn. Big win there.
Sure, I guess we were hoping for SC's on J and F fares too.
