Interested to see what happens here.... those of us who have been madly booking xASA's may have been actually giving more revenue to Qantas than we needed too, that is if SC earning on Classics become possible.

The devil will be in the detail
"Offer" to me implies just that ie special/ limited # / * / ^/** whatever.
Not personally fussed as from a purely selfish perspective it's unlikely to affect me (if ASA's go I'll drop from WP+PG to WP). I burn lots more points on upgrades.
I just can't see QF giving out SC's to every Classic Award booking unless that really is a flying pig going past my window.

Agree.....

Seems to be Y only yielding discount Y SCs. Ah well, better than nought.

Maybe good for domestic travel.

So business and first QF awards are excluded!:shock:...WHY? Not many AFFers will want to use their hard earned QF pts to book Y awards with a few notable exceptions.

Bait to the masses to encourage points burn?

Yes, but the real question is will the pig be earning status credits? Or only past some windows, or only flying some classes, or only to some locations, or only for X months.

True - WE know that but do the masses get it?

I'm not sure the masses even know what SCs are. My sister got Gold one year when she was flying a lot for work and she was totally surprised, had no idea such a thing existed and had no concept of why she suddenly got it.

So it's -

1) A limited time offer.

2) Only SC earn at Discount Economy rates on regular Economy fares.

3) MASA's unaffected

4) Maybe it will be expanded for higher cabins but nothing at the moment.

Okay, I can live with that, not too much to get excited about unless you regularly fly in whY.

Considering there are NO negatives I would hope everyone can live with it

Re: Status Credits on reward seats

The big relief here is that the MASAs are not planned to be withdrawn. Big win there.

QF have said that all along, it's never stopped the panic merchants on AFF from doomsaying though :)

Got myself all hyped up for nothing. :( However, I'm sure some people will get a benefit from it - so thumbs up to Qantas.
