Pilot uniforms were a good memory, having watched it live -- good to see the pre-show practicea

just watched it on 9 catchup online.

Was anyone else surprised that the "missing" lady wasn't at all concerned that her Husband who suffers from Alzheimers was missing?
or did I miss something?

Yes that was very weird. My non medical self wondered if they both had Alzheimers.

She wasn't really concerned at all that her husband wasn't by her side all that time.

Also liked the fuel tank part. I can imagine the OH&S approvals to get the GoPro footage.

Finally got through it tonight. Gave up on the weekend after the endless ads on 9 catchup.
*RANT* Seriously a 15 second ad that goes for 20+ seconds. You see the counter stop at 15 and the add keep going. Why mislead like that. *RANTOVER*
Anyway to the episode.

Definitely though the wife couldn't give two hoots where her husband was. Probably had some argument and then pretend it was all fine when cameras came over. If she knows her husband has dementia even if you had an argument there can't be a good reason to just leave him like that. It seemed really close to boarding and not a care about going to find him. Wonder if she knew how close she came to being offloaded.

Flight sim was interesting.

In tonight's episode I was interested to see the very perfunctory cleaning that's done, nothing wiped down, no tray tables checked for spilt stuff and the cleaners were not wearing gloves. If I were a cleaner knowing what some people stuff down those seat back pockets I'd certainly be wearing gloves.

I'm a little behind - just watched the first episode. Lady with missing husband = totes strange. Not even concerned!

Loading bags in the pouring rain without any protection was annoying. I appreciate maybe rain is not that common a problem in Australia... but why not have covered vehicle trays and covered loading ramps to the plane like they do across a lot of asia?

It was refreshing to see less of the 'woe is me' when airport managers were dealing with problems. The last series was totally unconcerned about passengers being delayed for 6-12 hours and all about the duty manager relieved to be going home to a hot bath, glass of wine and a good night's sleep. We almost forgot passengers were the priority in that series.

I'm so glad to see other people posting about this storyline. I watched the ep again as I thought I must have missed something but only thing I missed was the poor guy nudging at his wife's bag from his wheelchair when they were 'reunited' while she ignored him and the Qantas staffer saying "he's trying to say hello to you!".

Blimey. Their poor family is all I thought. The wife not even looking for him just reading her newspaper? I think the voiceover should have explained something further as it was really unresolved. Either she has some kind of dementia too or was just hoping to lose him! It was awful.

If the wife had some sort of dementia too, how was full and proper consent obtained for the production company to use the film? It seems unlikely the husband could have given consent. I'm not sure they should take advantage of the couple to score ratings? Alternatively... the story was a beat up, party staged to make it look worse than it was. Or they simply had a fight and she told him to bugger off and leave her alone for a while :p

Was there one manager there who kept calling people (women), "love", as in 'where you going love'? It was a very quick 'love' on the end of questions as if he knew it was not really professional, or perhaps I was hearing things.
