3 phone calls yesterday saying they were from the Commonwealth Bank and that someone suspicious overseas was trying to deduct $800 from my account.
Never banked with them in my life.

My elderly mother nearly fell for the "mum" version of this. Not thinking clearly, she asked 'is that you "name of my brother"'. that was a great opening to the scammer to lead her down a rabbit hole. Fortunately, just before she transferred the requested money, her suspicions were aroused and didn't proceed.
