Scams like these

Somebody must be trying to hack into my FB account. Last night I received 2 verification codes.
I received one 6 digit code (from valid facebook security) on Dec 22nd, so somebody was up to no good.

Given I haven't used FB for several years....

Sincerly.

Those fake packages or tolls that use Aust based mobile phone as sender's are doing my head in.
As I am in NZ and roaming in my case didn't work, see my other threads, I did have roaming credits and had roaming turned on, but both kept showing the red X.
Am in the Strata Lounge at AKL airport, yep, iffy "free" wifi tee hee.
LinkT/LnkT... they need some one with better English skills to write their spiel.
Would it be racist to say a lot of the authors are from the subcontinent aka India.

Or Western Sydney

Those with calls from Aust mobile phone numbers you mean, probably do.
They might have set themselves up as an ABN business and then set up a wangiri system.
Never played with a LinkT scammer tho.
The most basic scam I guess is they use your credit card numbers to buy gift voucher and sell that on web or an agent of theirs can convert the gift cards to cash, via money laundering etc.
Edit: answer all calls with a Namaska Ji.
Scammer Sahib.
Scammer Rahni.
Or Vannakam.

Not as bad, as you can still dream about the item, after you have bought it, and let it sit there, as a memento of your gullibility.
I know, I know, seriously, you wouldn't touch the thing with a barge pole.
But just muse over this, there is a spot on the web, where you can sell pixs of your feet for money!!!
Not to mention, sugar daddy websites and all its sort of ilk.
Not illegal, as you get to see things, ...!!!
Not as bad, as the one where a group of 150 people paid $130 each, for a supposed boat trip on Gulf St Vincent off metro Adelaide, out in the bay to watch the fireworks at Glenelg.
Well, 150 people paid $130, the scammer netted $19500 all up.
Yep, $19500 gone down the loo to the scammer.

Had this one several times over the last couple of days. Not a customer, so easy to detect.

75% good level of English.
In this day and age I find it shocking and surprising that it's so easy, or too easy to cut and paste a commercial logo, or to steal pics in romance scams.
Guess that the priority of the Aust govt is elsewhere no matter all the talk of internet security being boosted under AFP ergo Aust fed money sourced via our taxes.

I must admit that I can't understand this scam. It was an e-mail addressed to my wife. Obviously she has not ordered these goods and no charges have been recorded against our credit cards. There is no attachment or link to click. The senders e-mail address is *[email protected]*. One of the phone numbers seems to be for an internet provider in Michelago NSW while the other number draws a blank. The numbers are not recorded on scam sites but at least one person reported a scam call with a doubtful number supposedly from Michelago. Kappel does exist and the Quilt is on their website at that price. How are they trying to get money from us or is it a scam on Kappel.?
