>>>> ADDED 30 Sept 2010 <<<<

Background to this thread:

In a similar vein to the "Flight Availability / Upgrade Probability Help Desk" there has an increase in the posting of questions about specific seat allocation/availability on a flight. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with such queries. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.

This new consolidated thread is where you can ask questions about seating allocation/availability. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve usability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread:

Please post questions about availability of specific seats in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, Origin, Destination, date and cabin as applicable.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Miss Shelf (aged 5) and I have flights MEL-SIN return. As we're flying Y I am thinking 39A and 39B (QF A333).

Any thoughts on these seats?

The views down below would be somewhat obstructed by the wing

Perfect opportunity to teach the young ones about ailerons and flaps for the MEL-SIN sector, and there's nothing to look at outside for SIN-MEL (apart from complete darkness). :)

Can someone please help out with HKG-SYD flight QF128 on 26 Jan 2015?

Business class looks wide open and I have pre-allocated 11K. How many of the 14 seats are allocated in First Class?

Hoping to get a phone call telling me I can sit in First Class.

Expert Flyer shows all "F" seats blocked, none allocated.

Only about 6 seats allocated in the J cabin so far (including 11K).

Ah yes. The seat map would show them as blocked. Light business class load is a good sign for me. The Qantas website shows me the First cabin but I cannot select any seats.

Starting to get too excited now which is not what I intended.

Keep your eye on it - the Oz Weekend is often a busy time for travellers to from oz, mainly in economy- with possible upgrades et al, Zone A may open up.

(If you have a subscription to ExpetFlyer, you may be able to set an alert should any of those seats become unblocked.)

Unfortunately no ExpertFlyer. I am on last A380 flight out of HKG for the holidays. I will keep checking.

Experflyer now has a free option which allows you to set up seat alearts. Haven't tried it myself but may be worth a shot.

Can someone please confirm configuration of QF127 SYD-HKG on 04 November 2014?

I am now in 14K exit row but Qantas website only shows a partial of the upper deck and includes row 16 as exit row.

Hedging bets on configuration change?

E/F shoes a refurb 3 class.

5B/J are unallocated - i'd be at them in am instant ...

Assuming you're flying solo on this flight, I would strongly suggest you to take this seat first, then ask questions later. :)

But surely, I believe you would have seen it in person before?

There is no access on the side of 5B/J, a cleverly designed side storage compartment extends from the seat to the fuselage wall.]
Thanks. Exit row upper deck window or exit row lower deck aisle with a little privacy? Not an easy one.

Never seen it and if I have walked through the cabin I don't pay attention.

QF2 - EF is showing 17 seats blocked out. Would these become available before T-80?
I'm only getting mid cabin choices currently & won't qualify for SG until after this sector.

The T-80 rule appears to be more effective/applicable on Domestic flights.

I'd suggest you keep your eye on the flight regularly in days of the week leading up to it.
