>>>> ADDED 30 Sept 2010 <<<<

Background to this thread:

In a similar vein to the "Flight Availability / Upgrade Probability Help Desk" there has an increase in the posting of questions about specific seat allocation/availability on a flight. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with such queries. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.

This new consolidated thread is where you can ask questions about seating allocation/availability. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve usability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread:

Please post questions about availability of specific seats in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, Origin, Destination, date and cabin as applicable.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Seat map for SG
VA8 14/5/16 as of 1443hrs AEST
USD750 to upgrade to premium economy one-way on return flight. Not this lifetime.

Interesting how 25B is missing from seat map! Blocked? Virgin customer service confirmed same thing. Thanks for your assistance. I didn't realise but I can access the seat map via Orbitz email. Outbound flight I can choose from first 5 rows but inbound flight not yet available. I will keep checking.

25C is actually in the space usually occupied by a B seat. There is no B because B is never an aisle seat.

The reason is the toilets jut out into the aisle and behind 25 is emerg exit necessitating row 25 to be a 2 seat AC config

25 C is the closest to the toilet door :(

Rows with Seats DFG actually sit a bit ahead of the window rows. So the toilets sit behind row 25DFG.
Seatguru has a better pic.

Row 26 is better

Fantastic choice of seat. Toilet shouldn't bother me. Seriously. Is there any gap between 25A and 25C?

No just a renamed B seat

While toilets may not bother you, what about the people waiting in your vicinity for the loos and using the top of the seat as a handwipe or handhold?

No one behind you so recline all you want but recline is limited and no one going "tap tap" on the IFE

I hope no one will bother me. Don't really need recline to sleep. I am tired now and think will be super tired come Saturday morning.

The seats I was hoping would open up haven't opened up.

Can you please post one more update for VA1 SYD-LAX tomorrow and VA8 LAX-BNE tomorrow night when you get a chance? There appear to be 15-20 vacant seats. Would be nice to get a spare seat.

What's happened to row 20? I am in 21D. Think 22DFG, 23DFG, 24DFG would yield better chance of spare seat?

JohnK here is this morning's availability for VA1 14/5/16 which has severely tightened since overnight:

This is my first post so I feel a bit strange asking for advice. I'm flying QF7 tomorrow (16/5) and from what I can see on expertflyer it's looking fairly empty. I am flying in Y and had originally selected 72A. I have a fairly tight connection at DFW and 49A has come available so I've switched to there and it looks as if the middle seat is still blocked (49C is taken).

However, I'm trying to work out whether there is really any benefit to being in 49A with a spare seat next to me, or shifting my seat selection back to 72A and potentially having a row of 3 to myself.

Any insights or thoughts?? Many thanks!

Thanks for your help. Greatly appreciated. Had to cancel the trip as I had more important matters to attend to this weekend.

Seat Selection

What times are there to select seats without grey shadows, I know there is a T80, Any others, We are QF SG, thanks in advance.

Re: Seat Selection

bobe, can you be a bit more informative about what is your question?

Re: Seat Selection

T-80 is about it on Qantas, maybe also T-24 (when OLCI opens), or otherwise keep checking.
On VA T-48 also when OLCI opens.

Re: Seat Selection

Is anyone able to confirm if SQ118 SIN-KUL turns around as SQ119 KUL-SIN?

The transit time is only 55 minutes so wouldn't be possible on same PNR but should be possible to be booked on separate PNR's?

Checking google flight availability (just enter in SIN-KUL and then KUL-SIN) it would appear it is the same plane turnaround.

Re: Seat Selection

Yes it seems to be.

1) Checking the incoming flights that forms SQ119 on Flightaware suggests strongly 118 forms 119. Seems to be an A333 as well
2) SQ hub is in SIN so would logically return to SIN.
