Singapore Airlines Delays/Cancellations

Friday 28 July has the arriving SQ279 from SIN down to ADL (A333 9V-STC) estimated to be at its airport gate at 0933, 123 minutes late. As the returning SQ278 is scheduled to depart at 0910, expect it to be at least an hour and 45 minutes late in commencing pushback.

SQ245 (Friday 28 July 2017 0940 hours from SIN down to BNE that took off at 1057, B772ER 9V-SVJ) should pull in to the Sunshine State's major air terminal at 2008 hours this evening, 38 minutes late.

Due to morning fog in ADL on Tuesday 8 August that saw MH139 divert to MEL, SQ279 from SIN to ADL had to hold northeast of ADL along with others such as QF671 and VA211.

SQ279 (A333 9V-STO) was due into ADL at 0730 but landed at 0811 hours.

The evening of Wednesday 9 August sees SQ217 (A380 9V-SKG, the 1045 hours SIn - MEL that took off at 1331) likely to arrive at 2159 hours this evening, 109 minutes late.

Thursday 10 August has SQ235 (overnight SIN - BNE) suggested as arriving at 0744 hours, 39 minutes late. Aircraft is A333 9V-SSF.

Saturday 12 August sees the SYD arrival of SQ231 ex SIN, the 0045 hours scheduled departure that was airborne at 0227 (A380 9V-SKB) arriving at 1136, 71 minutes late.

A380 9V-SKC on SQ217 (1045 hours SIN - MEL) did not take off on Sunday 13 August until 1346 hours. However on a gate-to-gate basis it is expected to pick up a bit of time with arrival suggested tonight at 2225 hours, 135 minutes late. This then forms Q218, the 0005 hours Monday 14 August MEL - SIN so all being well that should depart punctually.

17 Aug SQ222 SYD to SIN "retimed" departure from 15.00 to 18.00

Thanks jkbaus. This aircraft took off at 1856 with A380 9V-SKF having the task. SIN arrival is estimated at 0104 hours on Friday 18, 224 minutes late. Anyone booked on SQ322 from SIN to LHR, the scheduled 2330 hours late night departure might have to spend the night in an hotel at SQ's expense.

Saturday 16 September sees SQ265 from SIN down to BNE, the 0655 hours that was airborne at 0811 (B773ER 9V-SVI) likely to arrive at 1722 hours, 37 minutes late while the SYD-bound SQ241, the 0710 hours that was in the sky somewhat later at 0834 should arrive at about 1741, 51 late with 9V-SWD.

Media (The Age, SMH) is reporting on Thursday 28 September (mid evening) that a worldwide fault with Amadeus Altea software means passengers are unable to check in. I do not have a list of which airlines use this software.

Chagi Airport (issuing manual boarding passes, which slows check in down a lot) and so SQ must be and QF has confirmed it is affected, but QF says that flights are continuing to depart. SQ partner VA uses this software.

As I write (2120 AEST) it is a major check in time for a number of flights ex southeast and north Asia to east coast Australia. Sometimes these stories can be exaggerated as such problems might be fixed after a couple of hours. A bit early to tell...

Tuesday 10 October sees SQ225, the 0005 hours SIN - PER redeye that took off at 0138 hours with A333 9V-STY likely to arrive at 0618 hours, 63 late.

SQ231 (A380 9V-SKJ, the 0045 hours SIN - SYD on Wednesday 11 October that was in the sky at 0301 hours) should pull in to its designated airport gate in Sydney at roughly 1304 hours, 99 minutes behind schedule. This aircraft has a lengthy allowed turnaround in SYD and is not due out until 1600 hours on SQ222, again showing the value for timekeeping of international airlines having generous 'reversals' in foreign ports where slot availability and other considerations make this feasible.

Yesterday (10 October) SQ231 had sibling 9V-SKC and arrived in SYD at about 1811, almost seven hours late. It formed SQ232, the scheduled 1200 'high noon' SYD - SIN that departed at about 1940 (very fast turnaround), landed in SIN at 0032 and then at 0220 was taking off on the scheduled 0015 hours SIN - CDG, SQ336. These are very fast turnarounds for an A380.

On Friday 3 November 2017, SQ207, the 0745 hours nicely timed (albeit with an early morning rise for passengers) SIN - MEL that is scheduled to arrive at 1810 hours took off at 0848. A350 9V-SMG should arrive at 1840, half an hour late. SQ208, the 1925 hours MEL - SIN returning flight will be unable to depart until at least 1955.

With the mid evening Friday 24 November storms around Melbourne, SQ208 (1925 hours MEL - SIN, A350 9V-SMF) did not take off until 2042. Saturday 25 arrival is suggested as 0119 hours, 74 minutes behind the timetable.

Wednesday 29 November 2017 sees the overnight SIN - SYD SQ221 (A380 9V-SKM) likely to arrive at 0814 hours, 34 minutes behind the schedule.
