Singapore Airlines Delays/Cancellations

Any idea what's happening with SQ207? Circled a few times about to land in MEL but now seems to be heading toward Canberra or Sydney.

Thank you $CJ. Very observant. There were thunderstorms in MEL with moderately heavy rain (not tropical standards) so I assume it deviated to SYD due to weather, landing at 1815 hours (but due in MEL at the terminal at 1710) and therefore arriving at a SYD airport gate at roughly 1820.

SQ208, the 1825 hours MEL - SIN is now showing as a suggested 2145 hours departure. This may be revised further because if the aircraft has to refuel in SYD, perhaps it might depart at 1915 with passengers having stayed on the aircraft if permitted in Oz (often Australian airports seem to require passengers to alight, go through security and reboard, adding time to a stop) which would mean a MEL arrival not much before 2045. Time will tell.

The diverted SQ207 (A350 9V-SMF) took off from SYD at 1919 hours on Saturday 8 April and is expected into MEL at about 2035. One suspects it may depart MEL for SIN (as SQ208) later than the earlier estimated 2145 hours.

Apart from promotional flights such as for SQ's 50th anniversary, was tonight the first visit of an SQ A350 to SYD?

UPDATE: SQ208 took off at 2217, about three and a half hours late from MEL for the trip up to SIN. Arrival should be at the horrible time of 0338 hours.

Delayed by multiple Sunday 9 April early evening holding patterns approaching SYD, SQ211 (B773ER 9V-SWR), the 0935 hours that took off this morning at 1003, should arrive at around 1954 hours, 39 minutes behind schedule.

Wednesday 12 April sees SQ245 (0940 hours SIN - BNE that was airborne at 1034) likely to arrive half an hour late at 2000 this evening with 9V-SVC (B772ER.)

B773ER 9V-SWI on SQ241 (0710 early morning SIN - SYD that was airborne at 0821) should pull in to the NSW capital at around 1722, 32 minutes behind schedule late this afternoon.

On Thursday 13 April, SQ241, teh day flight from SIN down to SYD with B773ER 9V-SWI is arriving at roughly 1816, 86 minutes late. It was due out of SIN at 0710 this morning but did not become airborne until exactly two hours past its pushback time. This aircraft also operated this flight yesterday as above, when it was late but not as badly.

SQ207, the Saturday 22 April SIN - MEL (A350 9V-SMA) should arrive 46 minutes late at 1756 hours.

BNE had fog earlier on Sunday 21 May, so that may explain the late departure of SQ256 (A333 9V-SSH, the 0910 hours to SIN that took off at 1001 hours) with arrival suggested as 1622 this afternoon, 52 minutes late.

Due to the alleged hijacking attempt on board Wednesday 31 May 2017's MH128 (2325 hours MEL - KUL), SQ218, the Thursday 1 June 0005 hours MEL - SIN took off at 0239 hours on Thursday 1 June and with A359 9V-SML is expected to arrive at about 0809 hours, 129 minutes late.

Advice as to whether passengers had to leave airside and be screened a second time would be appreciated.

Subsequent to this, Victoria and Australian Federal Police are being criticised for not boarding MH128 for 90 minutes once it was on the ground back in MEL. One caller to radio 3AW said the police must have been having an occupational health and safety meeting. Not a good look.

SQ237, the Wednesday 31 May 2355 hours SIN - MEL should arrive at 1030, 70 minutes behind on Thursday 1 June. Aircraft is B773ER 9V-SWZ.

UPDATE: The returning SQ238 from MEL to SIN, the 1030 hours, took off at 1155 with arrival suggested as 1726 hours late this afternoon local time, 66 minutes tardy.

On Saturday 3 June, SQ231, the 0045 hours SIN - SYD that was in teh sky at 0144 hours (A380 9V-SKH) should arrive at 1100, 35 minutes behind schedule.

A340 9V-SMH on SQ208, the 1825 hours Sunday 4 June 2017 MEL -SIN did not take off until 1937. Arrival has been delayed until a likely 0134 hours on Monday 5, 79 minutes tardy.

With Sydney rainy, there is a lot of holding going on with some interesting flight patterns. SQ211 (B773ER 9V-SWT) is arriving at about 1950 hours, 35 late despite taking off from SIN this morning at 0958, only 23 minutes after scheduled departure.

SQ208 (A350 9V-SMA), the early evening Wednesday 14 June 1825 hours MEL - SIN that took off at 1923 should pull in to its Changi allocated gate at around 0058 hours, 43 minutes tardy on Thursday 15.

Presumably due to fog in CBR, SQ291 (B772ER 9V-SRQ), the 2300 hours Thursday 22 June SIN - CBR that took off very promptly at 2311 hours is on Friday 23 diverting from CBR down to MEL where it should arrive at about 0850. It is timetabled to arrive in CBR at 0835 and then depart for WLG at 0950 so due to the diversion will be some hours late.

UPDATE: SQ291 subsequently took off from MEL at 1115 hours, landing in CBR at 1206 hours. It then departed from CBR at 1328 hours after quite a lengthy stay - one might have expected it to just be 90 minutes or so - arriving in WLG at about 1820 rather than 1515.

Monday 26 June 2017 sees SQ231 (A380 9V-SKK, the overnight from SIN to SYD) likely to arrive at 1115 hours, 50 minutes late.

SQ231 (A380 9V-SKT, the overnight SIN - SYD) should arrive 82 minutes late at 1147 on Monday 3 July. Rather than forming the earlier SQ232 or SQ252 flights back to SIN, this A380 is rostered on the 1500 hours departure from SYD, SQ222 so in theory it should be unaffected by the inbound delay.

On Thursday 13 July, A380 9V-SKB on SQ231 from SIN down to SYD is suggested as arriving at 1210 hours, 105 minutes tardy.

Wednesday 26 July 2017 sees SQ231 (A380 9V-SKI, the 0045 hours SIN - SYD that took off at 0216) likely to arrive at 1106, 41 minutes late.
