Singapore Airlines Delays/Cancellations

Friday 4 January 2018 has SQ208 (evening 1925 hours MEL - SIN, A350 9V-SMQ) not having atken off until 1926. Consequently the delayed arrival is predicted as half an hour behind at 0035.

Friday 12 January's SQ215 (1640 hours early evening SIN - PER that took off at 1937 hours, A333 9V-STT) should arrive at 0039 on Saturday 13, 44 minutes tardy.

SQ231 (0045 hours Monday 15 January SIN - SYD that took off at 0121 hours with A380 9V-SKP) should arrive at 1210 hours, half an hour tardy.

Probably going to be a fair old delay for all travellers out of Melbourne for the rest of this morning. Poor weather delaying nearly all services

Fog in MEL this morning

Cleared now

On Saturday 12 May 2018, single runway operations in Sydney (using runway 25 to the west over Sydenham railway station) is causing extensive delays as aircraft face longer in the takeoff queue.

SQ232 (A380 9V-SKV), the 1100 SYD - SIN with those allegedly wonderful first class suites, is looking as if it might become airborne at about 1230, so it will be at least 45 minutes late into SIN.

SQ231 (0045 hours from SIN to SYD, A380 9V-SKP) did not become airborne until 0305 hours on Tuesday 22 May, so arrival is likely at 1157 hours, 92 late. This aircraft will next be on SQ222, the 1500 hours scheduled mid afternoon back to SIN, again showing how it is helpeful for airlines to allow longer than minimum turnarounds when feasible.

SQ242 (Saturday 2 June 2018, the 1805 hours SYD - SIN B773ER 9V-SWL) was in the sky at 1855. Expected arrival is 0103 hours on 3 June, 43 minutes late.

On Monday 4 June 2018, fog in ADL caused the diversion of at least 11 flights with SQ279 among them. This SIN - ADL redeye that is timetabled into ADL at 0730 hours diverted to MEL with A333 9V-SSI then taking off from the latter at 1113. It should be in ADL at about 1153, 263 minutes late.

On Saturday 16 June 2018, an overnight from SIN to MEL (SQ247, B772ER 9V-SRO) is arriving at 0721 hours, 131 minutes tardy. SQ227 (B773ER 9V-SVR) is about five minutes ahead of it and on time.

As a result, the 0700 hours MEL - WLG continuation of SQ247 will be unable to depart until at least 0830 hours.

Tuesday 26 June 2018's SQ221, the 2020 hours SIn - SYD (A380 9V-SKI) took off at a delayed 2306. On Wednesday 27, it is arriving at 0810 hours, 135 minutes late.

On a foggy Wednesday 27 June 2018 late evening, SQ217, the 1100 hours SIN - MEL (B773ER 9V-SWL) is arriving at 2340 hours, 195 late. This will delay the redeye return flight.

With earlier fog in BNE on the morning of Friday 29 June, A359 9V-SMI on SQ235 from SIN to BNE had to divert to MEL. It took off from the latter at 1036 so should arrive at about 1230 hours, bearing in mind that BNE is naturally congested and many arriving aircraft are having to hold. SQ235 normally arrives BNE at this time of year at 0705 hours.

Returning SQ256, the 0910 hours may be able to depart from about 1345 depending on how quickly it can turn around.

B773ER 9V-SWO on SQ211, the daytime 0935 hours SIN down to SYD that took off at 1122 looks to be arriving at 2038 hours tonight, 83 minutes tardy. This aircraft overnights in SYD.

SQ208 (evening 1825 hours MEL up to, naturally, SIN with A359 9V-SMR) was in the sky at 1954. Expected arrival is 0134 hours, 79 late and on Saturday 14. It had arrived in MEL late this afternoon on SQ207 at 1706, four minutes early. Not sure why the delay but its is pretty much a minimum turnaround allowance, so unless all goes well, it is suspectible to delays.

Thursday 26 July 2018 finds SQ242, the early evening 1805 hours SYD - SIN not having taken off until 1925. B773ER 9V-SWJ shoud arrive 66 minutes behind schedule at 0126 on Friday 27.

A few thousand kilometres away, northbound SQ214 from PER up to SIN (B772ER 9V-SRP) looks to be arriving at 2311 tonight, 36 late as its takeoff was at 1805 despite a 1710 hours timetabled pushback.

A380 9V-SKW on SQ221, an overnight SIN - SYD should arrive on Sunday 29 July 2018 at 0638, 43 late. It took off from SIN last night at 2145, 85 minutes after the scheduled 2020 hours pushback.

Further south, B772ER 9V-SQM on SQ247 looks to be arriving in MEL at 0639, 89 late.

9V-SKK (A380) on the later SQ231 from SIN to SYD should be at its gate at 1100, 35 late.
