& so.. I am duly 'waiting in vain" to view & experience the apparent opulent characteristics of the new lounge..
After my lounging experiences in most sectors of the aviation archipelago, I shall be also delighted to add my realistic review.
Looking forward to the revitalised SIN experience :D

Looked on the Qantas website this morning and it appears the 31 March opening date has been removed. Not sure if this means they are pushing back the opening date?

Qantas Lounge soon to open in Singapore

The Qantas Singapore Lounge will soon open, offering a new standard of luxury in pre-departure dining and relaxation for you to enjoy. Find out more about lounge locations and access for the International First Lounge or the International Business Lounge at Changi Airport in Singapore in our Lounge Locations section.

What's New with The Qantas Club

I'm sure we will find out from aggrieved AFFers shortly! ;)

Should be open by the time I get there in late May though. If it's a QF J/F loung I will have access as an SG flying MH Y, correct?

We flew QF9 to SIN and then QF1 to LHR on Thursday. QF1 was delayed out of SYD so we spent 4 hours in SIN, we were denied access to the EK lounge as the lounge would apparently close before the new QF1 departure time (why we could not come in until closing who knows). This is despite being WP1 and flying F. We certainly did not enjoy our time in the QF lounge (which seems substandard even to a domestic J lounge) and are relieved to be flying home via Dubai.

So now should be about time for the lounge opening time on the 31st, any reports just yet? :)
I'll be there tomorrow, so will be totally disappointed if it's not open yet...

Poor for a high spending and at Wp1 frequent QF flyer, I flew through sin in F and found it a poor experience compared to other airports.

Poor show with the EK lounge. I hope you will take it up with the P1 team.

Ok well here we go

I am currently in Singapore Airport and Guess what ????????

NOT OPEN FOIR ATLEAST ANOTHER WEEK.

Well Done Qantas Well Done

Now anyone care to give me an idea of a better lounge than the old first being a lowly WP

Oh boy... why am I not surprised lol.

Any idea of the Emirates partnership access to EK lounge for SG/WP is in effect just yet (or is it from tomorrow)? Will it work in Singapore?

After a shall we say warm discusson with the lounge wizards they provided me access to the EK Lounge. Officialy no no access at this stage but due to the poor strandard of the BA Lounge (Just about all metion of Qantas has gone) Lounge was already well crowded noi drinks and very little food.

It would be nice for once to Meet a date that they tell you it will open OR tell people their is a delay

Incidentalyy just watched QF2 land from the windows of the EK Lounge.

NOT OPEN FOR ATLEAST ANOTHER WEEK.

Disappointing yes.. but I'd rather them open it a week late and make sure everything is done properly and to a high standard, then rushing to open it if its not ready.

I agree with you its just the lack of communication from QF that stinks.

I left Melbourne yesterday and spoke with a Lounge Wizard that had JUST come back from Singapore and he was confodent that it was all ready to open and should be an excellent experience. It has been advertised as opening on the 31st March.

Yet again QF fails to meets its commitment then fails to tell pople what is happening.

I asked the QF rep in Singapore when the new loungewr would be open and she said she had no idea. When asked why it hadnt opened as advertised she simpley replied was it supposed to be open today???? WTF?

It's still advertised as opening soon at the SIN airport at the moment, with signs at check-in and at the entry to the lounge. There's no mention to the opening date.

On a somewhat related note, QF and BA have split their check-in counters. QF has taken row 5, and BA row 6. Interesting that BA has set up a counter for EC gold and silver, while a QF WP would continue to use the premium check-in lounge.

A little OT but a somewhat amusing lounge reno tale: BA announced in June 2012 that they would be renovating and moving into the former BMI lounge at GLA opening "late summer 2012". The existing BA Lounge in GLA was the size of a moderate broom cupboard.

The lounge eventually opened on 9th March 2013.
It was worth the wait

I'm pretty confident that the QF lounge will be too, though hopefully not quite as long a wait

Is that multiple whiskies i see before me?

:)

Lucky I'm coming back from Europe on CX to HKG, then QF to SYD. The CX wing F section is now open and puts QF's Asian lounges to shame.
