Singapore QF/BA lounge new changes

I was talking to a P1 rep yesterday and asked for more information to be emailed regarding the lounges as they initially said there would be an F lounge and I corrected them on that (based on what we had heard) . I will post any further confirmation I get from them.

BA code share ceases March 31 so no QF flight no. or F option there either.

Just checked for June and agreed no BA however you could go on QF8405 over and QF8404 back on a 777

Coming from a different angle whats the situation for someone traveling with BA from LHR - SYD in F via Singapore in August. Will the BA lounge be any good and will there be a F option? Sorry its probably somewhere in the previous 34 pages. By then will QF have a decent option in Singapore to use under OW rules.

Thanks

I suspect it will be choice of the current F lounge (which is perfectly fine) or the QF option, I don't see it being long before CX move to the BA lounge as well. Hopefully they will have fixed the hot water in the showers by then.

I'm going to miss the current arrangement. I'm rather enjoying the EK lounge. Visit No 4, over the course of the last three weeks, coming up in 24 hours.

Indeed. The EK lounge will be available.......for WP's and SG's too. It has been nice not having the zoo experience. #sigh#

Could I have clarification please now further info is out. Flying J on Qantas Sin-Melb as WP in July means we can access which lounges? Qantas F and Emirates (? which lounge ). Tx.

You will have access to both EK and QF lounges, including any First sections they may have in them.

Thanks for the reply. 1st world problems i know but nice to know what to expect as have a few hours layover, have any of the OW lounges in Singapore any decent tarmac views? glass of something and bit of watching planes is a nice way to pass the time (IMO)

Its been confirmed there will be internal differentiations in service according to an interview with Mr Hickey I read, as in sit down dining for F etc.

You mean Island dining that actually works?

I am flying via SIN mid-April and beginning of May.

The mid-April visit is way too early in morning with an overnight transit in the airport. It will be interesting to see the improvements.

I hate to be a party-pooper, but knowing QF, I doubt the lounge will be open overnight.

Unless anyone has heard otherwise?

Perhaps my post was not that clear.

I have 2 transits coming up in SIN. One overnight in April and one during the day beginning of May. I am not expecting the QF lounge to be open overnight.

Totally agree, I visited the EK Lounge yesterday evening and it was quiet and peaceful. Well staffed with a good range of food options. Showers are on the small side with a weird water pressure variation but lounge otherwise good. Interestingly I was accompanied by a colleague on a QF codeshare with BA in F. The staff directed him to the QF lounge but at my request allowed him in as my guest ( I was in QF F).

Mind if I ask what time you were there? EK has flights from SIN at roughly 21:30, 22:30, then 00:30, and 01:30. I guess weekday flights can be a little quieter, but it was a complete zoo at the check-in counters at 20:00 on Sunday night. Surely, all the EK elite pax has to go somewhere?

Arrived at 21.40 left at 22.30

Are the Sing lounges going to become QF lounges rather than OW after end of this month? If so, does that then translate into having the QF family policy for the Sing lounge which allows 2 kids into lounge (compared to the stingy OW policy of only 1 as a guest)? this could possibly be, dare i say it, an enhancement?

wouldnt imagine that they could make the QF lounges non one world
