SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

I actually thought the French Red last night was ordinary - the Clonakilla O'Riada Shiraz did the job but.

And devastated by by what confronts me at TPR this morn:

Gone are are the small 200ml bottles Perrier - this week they have been replaced by cans - I hate change!

As long as they havent changed the champagne!

It was just greatly overcooked and just a tough piece of meat. Cabin Crew were just grossly apologetic - was no biggie - seldom do I ever worry about BTC as I usually find something on menu that takes my fancy. On flt SIN-LHR 3 wks ago we both thought offerings were really ordinary - so decided to BTC. The Ette said her Lobster perfect - my steak just terrible - was zero prob reverting to standard menu of day. There will never ever be a prob sending food back in R/F - you are king or queen in that cabin - crew will bend over backwards to make you feel special and accomodate you in any way.

CE we have learnt that the Steak options never come medium rare more like boot leather so give them a mis

Duck confit always is superb as is the lamb.

I OD on lobster at TPR

Off for our next R flights SYD/SIN/CDG tomorrow.

Has been a long wait ( Since Feb) for my last suites trip.

I do hope they have the Pichon le Land de Comptesse ( Bordeaux) on the Sydney leg.

Likely bet for the CDG leg.

Mixing it up on way back Infinity +1 coming home from CDG in Suites.

I'm back via LHR in EK Suites ;)

This is seriously first time I have had probs with steak - usually more than acceptable. Agree Lamb usually ok - not a Duck fan at all unless Peking Duck in Beijing.

dd you hoof over to the A/C maple lounge or stay in senator? much of a muchness imo. i.e. wheat beer on tap in both! did think the food option was a little more appealing in maple lounge.

Sipping vintage Verve in the SQ F lounge in SYD on way to CDG

Eggs Benedict and Duck pancakes to start the day.

Suites here we go (again) ! ;)

And the second time - poor man - either age or alcohol is catching up to him.

CE devastated !

The TPR has no Bordeaux ;(

The Pichon le Lande de Competesse is no more

This is twice in the last year that the TPR has run out of Bordeaux reds!

A good babera but ouch my ego is bruised ;(

Oh well will drown my sorrows in lobster

Tough day ;)

Yes it is just not good enough - I will add that to feedback email I draft today. Why not just the PH Rare with the Lobster? It's a better match anyway.

Is it recommended to OLCI or just check-in at airport? I'm currently seated in 1A on the 777 MEL-SIN, but would prefer 2A, which is bassinet seat and currently blocked online.

Call up and ask if you can have it. You might be moved if there is a baby come flight day.

That QF fiasco re not checking in prior to departure ex LAX some time back should be a salutary lesson to ALL pax travelling on ALL airlines! So YES at all times OLCI or indeed as I always do via SMS.

2A on ALL 777s is indeed blocked from online selection - BUT - in fact it is NOT the bassinet seat - 1A is the bassinet seat as all bassinets needs must be suspended from a bulkhead - if you want 2A just call and they will allocate to you with no danger of you requiring to be moved for a baby.

I have raised this matter with SQ Feedback on a number of occasions - they acknowledge the seating map discrepancy but it has not changed in years - go figure.
