SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

There are a few first products. A new first and just first on the 777-300ER (77W) From my understanding only the SIN-LHR route on 77W has the NF. There is suites on A380 and old first on the 777-300.

I flew the new First back in September 2014 on NRT-SIN. At least that is what we were told by staff on board.

while there are differences, any SQ F is just fine. business class has a much greater product variance from angled beds to little square boxes.

you our really can't go wrong with any F.

Just taken the plunge and booked our flrst ever First Class flight. Only took me 56 years. Flying A380 HKG-SIN and then SIN-SYD 777-300ER. Funny thing is it cost us 127500 points (for both of us) and if we just flew the SIN-SYD leg by itself (which we were going to do initally) it was still going to cost us 127500 points. Must be becuase of their zone system they use. I'm not complaining. :)

Did you select seats online or call KF? Does not really make any diff which pair Suites you have on 380 you are kinda cocooned and little vision outside your Suites. I just like 2C/D in F cause I am sticky beak and from 2C you have commanding view if entire F cabin - but that might not worry you.

OK, no worries. I will give it some thought. Booked online. We could have booked the A380 all the way through but there was only an 1H 5Min. layover and I thought that was a bit thin and I also have read about the TPR so was sought of hoping we could get into that. Is the TPR for all F pax. or only for VIP, special guests?

Thanks for your input.

Bolt don't forget to ask for TPR invitations if they do not hand to you at check in - they are a great souvenir for 1st time flying SQ F.

I know i might get shot here :P but any seat recomendations for econ?
BNE-SIN - 23:45 dep - A330-300 (2-4-2) seating
SIN - LHR - day flight - A380-800 V2 (no upper deck econ)
MUC - SIN lunch dep - Boeing 777-300ER (3-3-3) seating
SIN - BNE - morning dep - A330-300 (2-4-2) seating

I am thinking A or K (for the 330's) and probably windows for all as im travelling by myself, sleep againt the window, not get woken by others etc

I thought I read in another post that they weren't handing them out anymore. It won't hurt t ask anyway.

TA... Bolt
Hit and miss - TPR Gold invites still certainly exist - many ports do not hand them out - do not be backward in asking at checkin and saying 'I really want one as a souvenir' as most times they will notify SQ and one will be waiting for you at TPR entrance.

Over on SQtalk a guy called "yflyer" has done some great trip reports and as his name suggests many are in y. If my memory serves me correctly he often prefers the seats at the rear of the plane as he finds more free seats for stretching out if the loadings are not full

All Vouchers emailed - check your inboxes kids.
SQ fliers - due to illness of one free WiFi card recipient that card has indeed has not been used and is again available to deserving home.

Remember Jan 31 exp date and will WiFi only available on 380 / 77W - let your typing fingers do your talking.

Regarding TPR - if I've got an award booking for AMS-SIN-PER in F, but cabin class is actually F for AMS-SIN and then J for SIN-PER, do I have any chance of talking my way into TPR?

Lizzi YES - if your rdpt is priced at F rates (1 sector F/R and 1 sector lower cabin class) then you are definitely eligible for TPR. Process to be 3 x doubly assured in your own mind is to call KF to put a note on your rdpt booking - then staff at entrance F Lounge and entrance TPR will or should both be able to see this on computer. If at last sesort any further queries ask Lounge staff call KF and check your booking - although this last step will almost never arise.

Thanks Cruiser - I'll certainly do that then! Can't wait! :)

Is TPR only in Singapore or other cities as well? I can't seem to find any info on the Singapore.com website. For instance we are embarking from HKG. In Singapore where exactly is the TPR?

Thanks.... Bolt
