SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Is TPR only in Singapore or other cities as well? I can't seem to find any info on the Singapore.com website. For instance we are embarking from HKG. In Singapore where exactly is the TPR?

Thanks.... Bolt
Yes only 1 TPR - it is positioned past F section of SKL T3. Bolt SQ F/R pax are all escorted to TPR by SQ staff stationed at entrance to lounge - just go up escalator and veer left - you can't miss them and they certainly won't miss you.

Thanks Cruiser for your prompt reply. Looking forward to it.

AMS-SIN-PER is awesome for a F redemption. ;) have fun in the TPR hope you got a long layover

Yes, about 5 hours. The other alternative was only about 1 hour IIRC . Hence I picked these flights. It was tempting to have chosen the other flight as they where both A380's. I also didn't think 1 hour was enough in case our first flight was late. We're not in a hurry either. I retired last year and my wife has taken 12 months off. This is a big year of OS and domestic travel for us.

Perfect - you will love TPR Bolt - don't worry about what MEL posted - MEL would boo Santa with half a chance. TPR is a bit on the conservative side - perfect you our age group - and you will get treated like royalty. After a shower - a VCLGD or 3 - an a-la-carte meal restaurant style - you will be totally relaxed. You can then wander out to SQ F section and sit at the bar chatting to whoever is around - send the missus off shopping (I find CCs with low caps work best in these situations) and you can just relax - or go with her to provide the much needed advice female shoppers in an exciting / enticing new shopping environment so badly require.

I am one of the lucky ones. My wife hates shopping and even more hates spending money. (Unless it is on travel) LOL

I think that pretty much sums it up... 'you can wander out to the SQ F section'. :p

The TPR is pretty much just a big room with nothing happening. Quiet and private most certainly (which is a huge bonus). But in a totally different category to the LH FCLs, CX Wing, or QF F MEL lounge.

I can only assume that you are certain that your partner will never read this thread! :)
A brave man - in the "Yes, Minister" sense of brave.
Either that, or just a ...... No, no. That couldn't be the case. :)

Can't disagree with the general assessment - but TPR is brilliant if you are not feeling well, or need a mid-trip rest, or just a totally quiet environment in which to catch up on some work, while being totally indulged with food, wine and service.
A great resource, in any of those circumstances.

Then again, I don't need entertainment or partying facilities in an airport lounge. Quiet, not crowded, clean, and well serviced would do for me, anywhere, any time. Oh, and excellent Champagne, of course. :)

pj above comments 100% in jest - Cruiserette never reads AFF - she thinks my addiction to AFF indicates borderline ASD. Indeed she is very much her own woman - owns her own business - makes far more annually than I do - and has a Suite of CCs to rival anybody.

However it is a standing joke between us of her legendary spending habits in SIN - all her CCs of course - she hates the fact that I hoard Changi Dollar vouchers - they need to be spent on that trip IHHO - she singlehandedly gives the Euro block an annual kick along each year with her spend there - but after all that - yes she will hear about what I posted and yes my ear drums will get a working over - you know how it is pj - the joys of strong long term relationships.

I need to meet Cruiserette! Preferably on an F Lounge crawl! :) She sounds brilliant.
Don't let her lose you. :)

She is actually the perfect travel partner - she suffers mildly from motion sickness that requires a Quell or such pre take off and they make her very drowsy - couple that with 1 or 2 champers and she is out like a light. She has an appetite as big as a sparrow so hunger will not wake her - she can sleep from MEL-SIN / SIN-LHR without as much as a peep - PERFECT

But on the occasions she is awake she firmly believes ample room in any F / J seat for 2 - no need to sit in separate seats - I make sure she never forgets the Quell and champers.

:

I can very much relate (as I'm sure many on here can).

Mind you, her opinion of my time on AFF has softened since we flew to Europe in J last year...and will no doubt warm further when we do EY J and SQ R for our honeymoon later this year!

Just to add a datapoint from the other side - my hubby is the same: spends too much in transit at SIN (whisky) and shakes his head about how long I spend reading AFF... until he gets to fly J :D

Oh dear, Cruiserette and I are not kindred spirits after all.
I could never be accused of having the appetite of a sparrow - and I sleep little, either at 30,000 feet or on terra firma.

Still laughing in at your final para, though. Is that true dinks? :)

Had to look up ASD to get on board with this thread properly....of course I am thinking no problem with that seeing we are all posting. However the newspaper says folks posting selfies have a problem. Then along comes an extension arm for better selfies....just in time for Christmas.
No one is made perfect....we just get used to all of our defects.
Cruiser I got that Citi card with 15MB off to the sister in law in London and she will be coming home in a week so thanks for that one. Then of course you showed me the steak place in Park Street.
If SQ had not come up with Suites it could have really cost us as we would have needed a Gulfstream. We have saved a dollar or two by running with Suites I think.
