SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Check the dates are the same.

Dates, times, flights and that the lowest fare bucket is available. $1950 not amazing but $2950 noooooo way.

Do you need to fly SQ and to CDG and fexible with date and time? If so, plenty of cheap Y around.

Yep dates were correct. And yes - no way at that price.

SQ (or EY) are the preferred due to status etc

I dunno how 'blocked' they are vs someone has already grabbed them. On my SQ J flights a couple months ago I was able to select a bulkhead on the a380, but not on the 77W connecting down to Melbourne. A bulkhead opened up during on line check in (maybe that was the one reserved for bassinet).

They appear to be bookable by non-status at time of booking (if available).

I was on the phone to the call centre last night discussing some waitlists, and enquired about row 11 on the a359 and availability of seats on my flight. The agent advised that the seats were blocked for KF Gold or PPS until online check in opened at T-48 and to check again then - if they hadn't yet been taken I would be able to select them.

I didn't ask for the bassinet row, as I figure I'll leave those for them that need it...

I

I flew SFO-SIN on the A350 in Janrurary.. we booked it maybe 9 months out on points and selected row 11 straight away. No status...

that sounds like a new enhancement- I've booked row 11 every J flight so far :-(

I went through the flightaware listings and all of them had SQ landing at least 10 mins early so I stayed with the Thursday booking and grabbed a night at the St Regis as it was on SPG hot escapes. Just got here and he offered me a deluxe room with a great view, which had been defeathered for me or a suite with very average view. Went with the deluxe and it is typically St Regis gorgeous and huge. The defeathered was because I have feather free in my profile so they removed all the feather pillows including the ones on the lounge and vacuumed everything including the blinds.

Eldest son is on his way home today from the U.K. and plans to go to work tomorrow morning. Now that is something I would have to pass on as I end up with jet lag. Maybe the 6 day trip won't be too bad and the time difference between Perth and London is only 7 hours so it isn't like Los Angeles or New York for time difference.

I'm a happy AFF'er tonight.
One of my junior colleagues, who listened to my advice, is off to Europe with partner in J tonight and returning from London in R in a couple of weeks.
Their excitement is palpable.
Other colleague, listened but didn't act (too hard, too much effort, no time etc ..............) Off to Asia on Deathstar whY, for roughly the same outlay.
