SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Just changed a booking. Was 02 March SYD-SIN-FRA-JFK in F.

Is now, in May cost + 35125 miles (from VA 47K) and a refund of around $470AUD all up.

Which SYD-SIN flight originally?

I've a SYD-SIN-HKG x2 award booked around 8th March and I've got a few options waitlisted for 2nd & 3rd as I need to bring forward. Here's hoping it goes back into award availability!

Holding out for suites syd-sin as never flown R.

I wanted 23.5 hours in SIN so I was on SQ 242 departing 1805, and also have that now in May. I would phone them asap if I were you. I couldn't see anything, but she found it for me, but I was after anything in a 2-3 week period. SQ242 is R, the rest will be suites. (R is different to suites).

Ok, maybe I'm confused. What would the 777-300ER (SQ242) be? And, the A380-800 (SQ026)?
A380-800 has the Suites (R) onboard - 12 Suites front bottom level. 777-300ER has First Class (F) on board - 8 First Class seats front of plane - or on later deliveries 4 First Class seats front of plane if 4 cabin version with PE on board.

First Class (F) can be old version or new version - Suites (R) are same same all 380s

One small aspect of a recent transit through SIN was that when quietly sitting in SKL F Lounge every few mins you can actually feel a 'shudder / vibration' through the floor caused by aircraft landing on adjacent runway. I have never felt it in TPR of J Lounge before.

Hi all I have booked a multi city ticket on SQ in Economey LGK- SIN and then SIN-ADE I have found a reward ticket in J SIN -PER ,is it possible to drop the second leg? For a lesser fee than cancelling the whole booking

Thanks

Depends on a few things. Does the current ticket terminate in Adelaide? No other sectors back to SIN? If that's the case, it is possible to ditch the last sector. However... if your connection time in SIN is short, they may not let you short-check your bags. Secondly, there is a very small chance SQ will notice duplicate bookings and cancel one of them.

Have just under 24 hours in SIN before onward FRA - JFK F flights. (Arriving SIN 0020 and depart at 2355). So, a hotel for the previous night, but prefer not paying for 2 nights to cover me till 2100 check out.
What have others done / suggestions?

gmoh are you thinking CP at Changi? If YES then contact them ASAP and put your scenario to them - they will have come across this several times before - your only problem will be how heavily booked they are so don't delay.

I could join asap, but won't be using it much to get anything to impress IHG!
Time to start GMOH. IHG is ok for Singapore.

I am going in May '18 so a bit of time yet. Should I start now?

Of course you should start now - 1 phone call will go a long way to answering your query. And you can then post your findings which might help someone else with the same query in a month or so.

Yes indeed. Just noticed that now. It's like you're in a building built over a subway.
