Just a question regarding seating and overbooked planes.
I'm trying to book Y tickets MEL-SIN-SGN. Trying to select seats now for MEL-SIN for the missus and I. I can only see 1 free seat, the rest is all occupied and then there's the bassinet seats, which I can't tell.
Assuming the bassinet seats are actually taken, does that mean this flight is overbooked?

Can I check in my luggage all the way to Sydney if I fly Silk J USM-SIN then F SIN-SYD the next evening??
Ahh, silly me I should have searched my bad.IIRC there was some discussion about this a little while ago - I think the outcome was that the seat map opens up closer to departure. Not sure of the exact timing for that though.

If so, I am in the SYD lounge now waiting for 232 and enjoying a glass of French bubbles
Hopefully this inconsistency will be rectified in near future - my next F dep ex MEL Feb 3 so will check then.VIA EMAIL

Dear Mr Elite
Thank you for your email 5 January 2016. We apologise for the delayed response as we were experiencing a surge of feedback, compounded by the holiday season. Please be assured that we are currently looking at measures to ensure all feedback is processed and responded to in a timely manner.
We are concerned to learn of your observations, regarding the invitation to The Private Room at our various stations. We would like to assure you that this inconsistency is unacceptable and we have highlighted your feedback to our Station Managers in Sydney and Melbourne for their immediate review. Our agents are expected to meet our stipulated ground handling processes, and we regret that this had not been done.
We would be grateful if you could let us know, should this persist.
Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention, Mr Elite. We look forward to the privilege of serving you better in future.
Yours sincerely
