SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

We are on a countdown for a Suites run. Krug is still a favourite and I plan to have Mrscove's share seeing she doesn't drink alcohol.

802 morrow cove - R SIN-PEK - less than 6hrs but I am sure a Krug transfusion will effected - I'll recheck the Krug quality for you cove as I don't want you disappointed on your next flt.

06:00 arr into SIN and 08:30 dep to PEK - brekky in TPR but then they serve 'Brunch' in flt - PITA as it is only really glorified b/fast - this is one of the rare occasions I order BTC - US Fillet will do the job washed down with the French red.

Good to hear you can do a tester for us CE.
As far as first world problems Foxtel is out until Monday on level B6 in Sydney so I passed and went into the pool.

Arr access to TPR was questioned in FT thread so once again I have clarified this morn - answer so straight forward and unequivocal - SQ R and F arr pax will be granted TPR access on day of arrival regardless of intended activities later that day - ie no matter if you have onward flight on SQ in J or Y - if you have onward travel on anather carrier - if you are awaiting access to SIN hotel or indeed if your travels terminate in SIN - you can access TPR on that day only.

I know it never affects you but do the same privileges apply for incoming J pax to their lounges?
Unfortunately no arr access for J pax. And it does affect me sometimes - I am not a permanent fixture in R/F - I do fly J also - in fact I love the interaction with crew in J cabin.

Brekky of champions is it not?

Whats that you say? 07:30 SIN time a tad too early for drinking champers? Prolly right - lucky it's 20:30 in Rio - a totally civilised time to inbibe!

As Waitlist clearance is a hit & miss affairs and therefore cannot be relied on unless you have confirmed alternative.

The non-preferred available flights should be taken up unless they are 100% unsuitable. Once the Waitlist is cleared, it is a simple matter to swap one for the other without fee IIRC.

Waitlist isn't an option as we're also travelling with 2 other people on cash fares. We're locked in and they can purchase at leisure to get the same flights. End result is the holiday is shortened by a day. SWMBO only walked around exclaiming "9 days! It's all your fault. Useless points!" for about 48 hours. Hopefully, she's forgotten now.

Other WL discussion noted for future use.

what happened to the nifty trick of using the SQ app to check multiple days of award availability? seems to have been replaced? clicking day by day is a PITA!

My only flights on SQ have been in F and Suites. I'm not a fan of the seat being either a bed or a couch.
Does business class recline fully without having to go into a special bed mode?

The 'new new' business business class seats supposedly have a laz-y-boy function. Otherwise the existing 'square' seats have the same 'bench' problem.

Regional configured aircraft (A330 772s and 773s) without full flat beds all have 'normal' seat functionality allowing deep recline all the way down.

guys any tips as to using Krisflyer miles to fly from SYD to LAX?
