When does Singapore Airlines first open award seats for booking?
Jumping on Singapore Airlines award space as soon as it’s released can be a great strategy. Get online at one of four different times to be first in the queue for a KrisFlyer redemption.mainlymiles.com
As most of our regular readers will know, this happens each day at 8am Singapore Time… right?
Well, yes in most cases that’s true – both revenue and award space on SIA flights is added at 00:00 GMT (which is 08:00 SGT) each day, 355 days in advance.
Just off the top of my head… does it go against the ‘no backtracking’ rule? The booking conditions state backtracking is only allowed where ‘required by route restrictions’. Maybe SQ want you to fly out of ZRH in this case?Has anyone had experience with changing a KF saver award and adding a *A award to the same itinerary?
I have a ticketed LHR-SIN SQ F saver award.
I want to add GVA-LHR on LX J the day before, which arrives <24 hours before the LHR-SIN departs.
The main reason is so I get the APD back (about 200 GBP).
The mileage increase from 141k to 158.5k is worth it.
Plus, that's what my travel plans will now be.
This post indicates something of the same type can be done, but the person had to go in person to the SQ physical office (!).

Call centre says it's not possible - they can't find a way to price it. They can see the GVA-LHR but cannot get the through fare to be priced. Waited over an hour for them to talk to support.
Any tips? Or anyone have a contact I can try?
I had no idea there was such a rule! I'll have to look it up...Just off the top of my head… does it go against the ‘no backtracking’ rule? The booking conditions state backtracking is only allowed where ‘required by route restrictions’. Maybe SQ want you to fly out of ZRH in this case?
I do recall the rule of thumb for backtracking - is if the distance travelled >x% (40-60%) of the point to point distance. As GVA-LHR-SIN is only 10% longer than GVA-SIN, I doubt this would be considered backtracking .Just off the top of my head… does it go against the ‘no backtracking’ rule? Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?
Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.
Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
Why is making changes to Redemption bookings so hard with the call centre. As has been discussed previously, the agents keep saying that they cannot see the availability, as the online availbility is for "new bookings", and then you ask them to go check again, and eventually someone knows how to grab the fare availability and make the changes. But it is so random and then so frustrating. Has anyone learnt the "magic words" or know what instructions can help to guide the agent to be able to get the new availability for making a change?
When you use the Change function online (in this instance, it's greyed out anyway..) it's just using the same availability online, so why is it different for the agents?

If listed, the barramundi in black bean sauce is tasty, although not that glamorous to look at.Just looking at Book the Cook out of BNE on SQ236 and the choices seem rather limited. Anyone tried the Grilled Beef in Green Peppercorn Sauce?
Then for SQ336 to CDG I'm thinking of the Lobster but I know many on here seem to prefer the chicken rice, although I see both are also listed for breakfast. Any other suggestions?
