My St George enquiry + credit limit showed up....but my score went up!!?

It could be that older things dropped off or temporary glitches with the introduction of CCR were corrected.

Once applications have aged quite a bit they don't negatively impact your score as much.

This card and ANZ black which I applied for in the same month were both on my file and both made not an iota of difference to my rating. Go figure!

Mrscove now has her 2017 income tax assessment so I am hoping these new reports don’t mess up her conditionally approved card. Our family has grown very keen on Kris Miles and the extra beneficiaries/redemption Nominees come in useful.

I wasn't asked for a tax return when I applied for this card.

Perhaps if your income is more marginal for getting the credit limit they may want additional documents.

If you have a good income and a decent level of savings (can easily afford to pay bills such as tax bills) you should be fine.

St George gave Mrscove an immediate conditional approval but asked for an ATO tax assessment that was less than 18 months old together with 2 months of bank statements. We need this card to replace the Westpac Amex Kris Flyer which has been withdrawn earlier this month.

Payslips were enough for me.

If you're self employed or very reliant on non-work related sources of income I could understand that ATO tax assessment and bank statements would be important.

If you're self employed (ie. not an employee in the taxation sense), you don't get payslips.
Depends on the bank, two recent NOAs (NsOA) often suffice, some want every page of the return.

I'm the same and somewhat reversed what happened last year when I applied for 4 cards in 3 months and my credit rating took a big hit so I didn't apply for anything and my score subsequently never changed over the last 12 months

Now a year later after applying for this card I've gone from OK to Excellent in 2 months - not sure I really understand how the process works

I received a letter thanking me for my application, but saying it was on hold as they required further information. No phone call or email, just a letter in the mail. The funny thing is that I had received the card and welcome pack a few weeks earlier and have been using the card without problems. Anyway, I needed to call them about something else and mentioned the letter. Was told to ignore it as there’s no issue with the account.

Got more than 8,000 Qantas points in my account from this card today. This must be for my first statement period. But no bonus points. Clearly with that number of points I have spend the required $5000. Seems strange that some get the points but others, like me, don't.

Maybe they were preparing for CCR and stopped reporting applications whilst they were adjusting their systems for the change and now that they've got their systems ready they're going through a backlog and reporting them to the credit rating agencies.

I couldn’t see any comment in the thread re the following.

What would be the consensus if one currently holds the Amplify platinum from Bank of Mel?
I have just last week received 60k bonus from their promo and will be cancelling forthwith.

My gut feeling is it is not worth the risk.

I know the banks are tied up, but they are different so surely the restriction wouldn't apply.

Just ring (or online chat if available) and ask the credit card team, they really should know this.

Did anyone receive the Bonus 90K points for spending the $5000 on Govt payments. I just paid a bunch including Vic Roads and ATO. The fine print is a bit ambiguous so wondering if those payments will attract the opening bonus?
